Alien isolation is a really good survival/horror game. Even if it is a lil more horror then survival I would still recommend it. I found a survival game which focuses more on the survival elements but as far as I know I doesnt have a story yet. It is called survisland

the kambo (aka sapo) frog is green irl so that is actually really nice attention to detail, it wouldn't surprise me if it really does have to be that specific frog. this game gets high points for accuracy besides its fictional extrapolations and necessary videogameness. [fun facts: the sapo/kambo frog poison is indeed used by tribes in the Amazon, similarly administered through tiny burn holes after being scraped from a captive frog's skin (which is then released, having been tied between four little posts and tickled... really)... this is not deadly (unlike other tree frog poison) but rather causes about 20 minutes of intense flu like symptoms, cold sweats, nausea, mucus production, bodily discomfort... but that gives way to feelings of heightened energy and extreme well being, as well as increased senses for hunting and less required sleep, these positive effects lasting for up to 2-3 days. about 6 tiny circular burns are made by a thin smoldering twig, and the poison, which can be dried for storage and rehydrated, is spread in the tiny abrasions; the dots are arranged geometrically so it may be a ritualistic act as well as heat-sterile. then it's several minutes of acute discomfort, like a raging pre-hangover, in exchange for hours or days of heightened functioning. afaik it's unknown how or why it does this, but it seems to kick start defensive and hormonal systems in the body, which provide a higher state of functioning since there is no real illness to fight. but that's just a hypothesis. I've seen it in action personally though and it's fascinating.]
