If you do this again, if you set a few height pads dotted around at the exact height you need (on the perimeters). Then you can use a timber to screed between the points. The process is just like concreting or putting in a sand bed for pavers. You end up with it perfect between those points. When screeding you pull the timber backwards and it pulls the excess material back with the timber. Good luck and thanks for the vid
