Gary Morris has always been one of my favorites. I remember being a teenager going to the Utah State fair to see him perform. I thought he was so good looking and then he sang and it just melted me . What great memories ❤

The song is called Finishing Touches by Gary Morris. It's a beatiful song as is most of his music. Gary has one of the best voices I've ever heard. During the 1980's my Mom would take us down to Nashville, Tn. for his party during Fan Fare and he knew us on a first name basis, he's great.

I saw Gary in concert in 2002. Absolutely fabulous! The first hour of the show was just him and his guitar, then the band came on and they performed the Lone Star Knight album in its entirety. His merchandising guy didn't show, so after the show he came out and was selling his cd's personally. Got to meet him and chat with him briefly. Great guy.

I was here!! This man is/was mesmerizing on stage. He has/had one of the finest voices ever...@mtrott1, it's a shame that some of his best songs were covered by other artists ( kenny Rogers, Bette Midler) and never got airplay. He did Nazareth's LOVE HURTS and it was freaking fabulous...( there is a video on You Tube) but wish it was downloadable.

Gary Morris is who wrote the song and made it a hit in the eighties. Just saw him in concert, still a gorgeous voice and entertaining show. He is still writing some wonderful music. Gary Morris: Finishing Touches Lyrics Songwriters: Morris, Gary; Welch, Kevin;

This song was the only "new" track on his first compilation album, Hits!, though it also included a rare live opera track from La Boheme that he did, co-starring with Linda Ronstadt. The studio version of this song is my favorite of his, plus his hit 100% Chance Of Rain. This song was a travesty, only hitting #26 on our countdown at the radio station I worked at - I would have made it #1. I still think it's one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard. Former country broadcaster, 1980's

One more thanks from a long-time Gary Morris fan. I love this song, one of my favorites too.

BTW, the HITS! album came out in 1987. Gary could have been in either sports or acting for a permanent career, but fortunately spent 11good years in country music. Still confused how he gets three #1 singles, two Top Ten albums, yet his first greatest hits album never breaks Top 20. Especially when, unlike much of the competition, the music isn't garbage. The song was written by Morris and Kevin Welch, another Warner Brothers labelmate who had major promise and got kicked to the curb.

Thanks for the information graytreb. Gary Morris has a great voice. Listen to how smoothly he jumps in and out of that falsetto. What a talent. --mtrott1

Beautiful song of love blossoming at the wrong time and place. Timing is everything, is it not? Perhaps, Gods timing, which is perfect, has a better plan.

You people leave some of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen. Gary Morris is a very talented man, with an extraordinarily gifted vocal range--but you just can't enjoy the video, and give him a break.😒💒

Nice vid! Thanks. My voice coach is Renee Grant-Williams- she mentioned to me that Gary was a friend who she'd lost touch with. She's about 70& has taught the likes of Garth Brooks, Linda Ronstadt, Carrie Underwood, Hannah Montanna,and Shania Twain. I thought I'd look him up for her to see if anyone can put her in touch with him again. I think he's in the CO region, and she's coming out here to teach a one day seminar and would like to say hello, methinks. Any ideas? Thanks, Jewell Hill

from my friend who played guitar and is on this video:...(from Gary Hooker, the guitar player on this) Okay,since I am bored I will bore you guys with some details on this (and because I notice several Glades area ladies who still seem to be quite infatuated with Mr. Morris). We first worked this up in the last days of GMO(summer 87) and went into the studio to cut a version that was on the Greatest hits record. It marked the only time the full GMO band appeared on a release

And larry Gatlin owns Barry Gibb in falsetto. Now, here's the kicker Gary actually goes into an upper head register that is actually more of a true voice than a falsetto. Most singers work for years to be able to get that register and most never do. I am gifted with a great falsetto, But, when it comes to upper head without flipping to the falsetto that is something that takes training, practice, or raw talent like John Gary.

I agree. Larry Gatlin is tops! Both him and Gary are my favorites.

Im sorry, I spoke before I took a listen to Gary doing this song. He dosn't go into falsetto or an upper head register. This is not a good tune to rate Gary on. Some of his best work was done on L.P. Anything Goes and Stones. Songs like Somebody Lives There, Shelter, Bread and Water, Heavens Hell Without You, Dragging The Lake For The Moon, South December Road, Stones,

Gibbs has a great falsetto but can't touch Gary's range overall! Gibbs could never do justice to La Boheme or Les Miz
