Your channel is much preferred over others. Very relaxing and you don't talk shit or get down on previous techs who may have worked on the amps you see. Cheers

Another great episode Chris! Love seeing those vintage amps getting brought back to life. So I have a question about microphonics as it's something that regularly comes up. But what makes components/valves become microphonic and are there build methods that help to stop/delay it developing? Many thanks again!

Maybe it’s on your playlists but would love to see a race car video. Dabbling amp tech but long time wrench turner❤

Nice job made of the output transformer for the Vox, it would be very hard to tell that it wasn’t original. I used to own an AC10 and it didn’t sound as nice as the one in your video, thinking about it I suspect that the speakers were past their prime.

Hi Chris, follow-up question from last week regarding valves adding harmonics. Why does the output tracing on the scope still look like a perfect sine wave with a dozen or so harmonics imbedded in the signal ? Shouldn’t we be able to see higher frequency waves on top of the original sine ?

AC10 sounds killer!

Superb Channel indeed I wish you were based in Wales - I have quite a few jobs for you!! Just a quickie I have a Dr Z MAZ 38 and when I turn up the ''cut' control the top end goes very fizzy! Is this a cap issue?

Enjoying my 5E3! What a great sound. Chewy and thick with rich harmonics. Superb build quality too. ❤❤❤

As you had a couple of cathode biased amps there, I've wondered why HiFi amps always use separate cathode resistors for the output valves, but guitar amps always seem to use a single, shared cathode resistor and cap. What is the reason for this? I realise a common resistor will work OK but separate ones seem intuitively better to me. (I'm more familiar with HiFi than guitar amps)
