Finishing with Mud and Dirt | Panther Ausf. A Early w. Zimmerit Part 3 | Das Werk; Takom; Atak 1/35

This Episode I finish weathering the Das Werk Panther Ausf. A early by appling a lot of mud, dirt and dust deposits. I show my process of appling these weathering techniques in great detail and talk about "why" as well as the "how".

Thank you very much. I learned a lot from this build to be taken into the next ones. For a more realistic impression I would not do a camo underneath the whitewash again and go for the darker "Darkyellow according to standard" for a higer contrast to the white. that would have looked nuts mate ; )

Another excellent video! I think I told you before, but I have a Panther project to start soon :) so you've given me some great inspiration on my weathering approaches. Also, your metallic pastel for the worn edges of the tracks looks much easier than rubbing on metallic pigments with a silicone brush...I may have to steal this idea! Your leaves and the branch are an excellent final touch to the model as well.

Thank you Evan. I'm looking forward to your Panther, that's for sure! No need to steal, mate. It's a Sennelier Oil Pastel 132501.223 they make so many, they even sell them ; ) I think pigments lead to a more refined result but the oil pastel is faster and easy to deal with.

Do you have a video showing how you stick the wheels together like that?

I'm pretty shure it's in the build episode of the is series or in one of the Tigers I did build next. You use sculpting putty like green-stuff or magic Sculpt, make a roll witha bout 2 to3 mm diameter and slice small balls off. Place the inner layer of wheels to the chassis, put a drop of CA on each side of the wheel, place a putty ball, put another small drop of CA onto the ball and press the next layer of wheels onto it. Repeat till the outer layer is reached and than use the time before the putty hardens to adjust the wheels. I do not glue the wheels to eachother. Only the CA-Putty-mix is holding them in place. It remains flexible enough to remove and put back on with care. Hope this helps.

Die ganzen Verschmutzungsarbeiten hast Du richtig gut und sehr sorgfältig gemacht und so ist auch Dein Ergebnis ausgefallen. Ein richtig schöner Panther in Wintertarnung, der halt die ganzen Einsatzspuren zeigt. Tolle Arbeit von Dir, selbst wenn Du vielleicht noch immer etwas verbesserungswürdiges findest. Ein Gefühl was jeden irgendwie von Zeit zu Zeit beschleicht. Weiter viel Spaß Kai und vermutlich auf zum nächsten Schätzchen in Deinem Vorrat!! Gruß Joachim

The small trees leave are amazing detail...you did an excellent Job !!! I'd live to use winter camo but its going to be my first one and Im not too sure...what camo under?? how much paint white cover its should use??? Should I go strait to Kurs panther's camo ( dont know really how many differnt camos had the panters there; I must study that)?????. Well I guess thinking and choosing time and places are part of the modelling fun !!!

Thanks Carlos. With a Panther A you pretty safe going with a base coat in RAL 7028 and free-hand field applied camo ontop of it. Don't overthink the pattern there is plenty variation - just think of of a 1/35th scale hand using a spray gun and it will be fine : )

Ich weiss nicht welche Produkte du alles beunutzt hast da alle auch ein bisschen ähnliche Namen habe ... Vieleicht könntest du mir aber alle Produkte nennen. Ich würde gerne auch wissen welche Marke das Offwhite war. Vieleicht könntest du auch jeweils am Anfang des Videos oder in der Beschreibung alle Produkte kurz nennen. @@NF-mw2jw Achso, jetzt verstehe ich. Bei den Pinsel-/Airbrushfarben gilt immer der Farbton, der Hersteller ist nicht relevant. Off-White ist immer Off-White oder auch Bleiweiß genannt. In dem Fall war es entweder das aus AK Real Color serie oder Ammo by Mig Acryil. Beim Weathering nutze ich die Heavy Mud Serie und Nature Effects Serie beides vom Ammo by Mig. Earth & Dry Light Soil nutze ich dabei fast immer (hier ebenfalls) das Pigment war entweder Dark earth von Ammo oder Umbra Natur (das ist dann wieder der Universalname). Ich möchte keine Werbesendung für Alterungsprodukte machen, darum bekommen die Fläschchen bei mir eigentlich nie viel Zeit auf der Leinwand ; ) Kannst aber immer gerne fragen wenn Dir was unklar ist, da helfe ich dann gerne. Gerne doch. Als Neuling machste mit Das Werk nicht viel falsch. Sollte Dir der Bausatz aber zu viele Teile haben, versuche einen von Tamiya stattdessen. Den Jagdpanther kann ich besonders empfehlen - da kannst bereits nach einem Nachmittag bauen mit bemalen und altern anfangen. (Hat mich regelmäßig die Motivation gekostet so viele teile zusammenzustecken und dann wenns ans altern ging keinen echten plan oder erfahrung zu haben und ne Woche ,,schleifen und kleben" zu riskieren ; )
