hi in J-C how should i define the strain. Is it principal strain, maximum strain etc? and for strain rate? the stress in J-C equation is it in plastic zone? and how abaqus knows that? is that maximun principal sttress?

+M Umer Yes, you can. I know that it is doable with ABAQUS input files but my preference is to use scripting; I just find it more understandable. You can write your material properties from MATLAB into a simple text file with Python extension (using fprintf) and then call this file at the beginning of your ABAQUS script and finally assign each parameter to its value.

سلام دکتر آرش.من درپایان نامه کارشناسی ارشدم به محاسبه کرنش ها به روش DIC و مقایسه نتایج آن با نتایج تست کشش و شبیه سازی تست کشش در آباکوس پرداختم.شبیه سازی تست کشش در آباکوس به همراه متلب برام جالبه.علاقه مندم اگر براتون ممکن هست کد متلبتون را داشته باشم تا نتایج آن را هم مقایسه کنم.البته در کارخودم نتایج بسیارخوبی گرفتم که براتون ایمیل میکنم

I am wondering why and where to use MATLAB in our process when we are using Python capabilities? Python provides functionality required to modify the material properties, create hardening curves and required error calculation. So, why MATLAB?

You are right, we can do many things MATLAB does in Python. But beside the fact that MATLAB is the preferred-easy to use programming tool for many, it has several fascinating toolboxes including neural network and genetic algorithm (that I used for some of my publications).
