Finite State Machine Combination Lock

Hii, does circuit work if I change the "password" to unlock it? or that would lead to a different state machine and thus a different circuit?

If I remember correctly, to have a different password, you would need a different state machine and different circuit. Although I'm sure you could design a more complex circuit which is able to set/change the password as well as operate the lock.
