Everyone commenting on the vocals and how this and that entry is gonna smash the juryvotes solely based on the artists singing skills 🙄 The juries have instructions to judge other aspects as well. Vocals are just one part of it. Also they have instructions to judge the song in itself, overall performance and originality.

Exactly. I don't understand why anybody was expecting the guy to have an amazing voice - he's a rap artist; singing is not part of his remit. He can hold a tune in a bucket, and that's all he needs to do, because the appeal of the song was never his singing. The same could be said of, for instance, La Zarra. I saw some fans criticised her staging because she doesn't move around a lot, but the appeal of the song is her singing and her aesthetic, not throwing herself around or pulling stunts. She IS the stunt. Idk why people are judging some of these entries on aspects that they never aimed for in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

I don't get why people think its not gonna be in the top 3 of the juries. I mean the composition of the song and the way it connects to the lyrics, the staging, the uniqueness are all factors that can even make him win jury's vote. Only the singing part is a bit off key sometimes but that shouldn't be a problem since the song is still enjoyable.

When jury members in multiple countries suddenly put an entry whose culture and language they understand very well first in the top 1- 2 at the semi and it wins the televote and becomes 2 overall, and then the same people put it in the last positions in the final effectively dropping it to be a non contender - that is basically everything you need to know about how this f...d up system works. Do you want another example? The French that are kings of electronic music, love folk and don't like English language at the ESC suddenly fail to recognise a brilliant Non English mix of folk and electronica at the jury vote and give it 0, while the French audience does and gives it 12, and it again says it all.
