Well, this is do protect Finns and Finnish labor market. It is tough nowadays to find a job in Finland. No wonder why government tries to decrease competition for citizens. I would say that even this new policy is order of magnitude softer than in the U.S. So not everything is so bad....

At the same time some industry and employer organisations and groups complain about the shortage of qualified professionals or just workers in some sectors or areas. They are worried about their future possibilities to attract needed professionals to support their business.

There are many half-truths about this. Each group tends to pick some arguments in public to support their own agenda or beliefs. There are some who have more holistic understanding of the effects but those are more complicated stories than what the news media or political players care to tell. Not simple enough for public consumption seems to be the attitude of the media and politicians. Perhaps people really are so stupid, that only simplified, and therefore not factually true, "truths" are worth telling.

Finland is still a good choice - but sure the new policy has caused second thoughts among many immigrants living here and also among those planning to move.

💚 What part of Finland's 🇫🇮 unspoken message that, "They don't want anymore immigrants of certain hues, from certain countries living in, & or receiving Finnish Social Services anymore?" Not trying to be mean, but it sounds like the US should take a few pages from Findland's New Playbook, too. 01/02/24

Hey, thank you for making such informative video and keeping us updated with the latest changes. Are the new changes already implemented or will soon it be ? And if not then how likely it seems to be implemented ?

Hi! So far, no changes have been made. The Government Programme is a political action plan agreed upon by the parties in the Government. It describes the Government's objectives and main areas of activity. All changes proposed by the Government will require preparation and will not come into effect immediately. A good source to follow the latest updates is the Finnish Immigration Service: migri.fi/en/-/the-government-programme-proposes-changes-but-they-require-preparation-and-will-not-come-into-effect-immediately.-follow-our-website-for-the-most-recent-information-available

i think we should respect the decision of government.you dont owe anything from finland so it has every right to formulate and bring new laws.if you dont like then leave the country but stop spreading negative image of finland.
@just42tube

I am almost sure that there isn't a single Finnish person or resident in Finland who likes all laws in all details. If they would leave the country there wouldn't be anyone left. The more knowledgeable people are about legislation or common law, like lawyers, the more they know what should be improved.

The Finnish government has earned its reputation through its own incompetence and narrowmindedness. If Finland has a negative image its their own fault. As a native Finn, I consider it moronic if criticism of the country couldn't be tolerated because people have such fragile egos.

For me nothing changed. Because I am from EU, I was working About 6 years to get to social benefits and finally get integration course because of my life problems here. One time not get any benefits and they fired me before christmas time. They did very good job! If you want to come Be sure you can work and study language before. Also they should investigate person from where he comming from... I mean from what community because some organizations here take immigrants to Finland and they should be responsible for that person because they taking. I speak about religion organisations. They creating communities, it is not fair not everybody want to be in that community. They should having additional limitations because they are together. Not everybody want to going to some church. And not religion for business if that... Then additional limitations for this peoples.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles! In our experience, we have not been forced to or even witnessed any religious activities here in Finland.

"Equal tax, equal treatment" is also used to demonstrate that there are immigrant group, which are agains integration to the Finnish society and in some ways also hostile to the values. For them Finland is just a place to earn living and to benefit from the society without becoming culturally integrated causing difficulties with foreign language customers at all public services, crating ethnic groups having tension between them for political, religious and other reasons. Then if you add the problems with dual citizenships etc one has to admit that all this is complicated and difficult. Not to mention ideas that salaries in Finland in some sectors stay lower because of the inflow of cheaper manpower from outside EU. There are people who think that nurses would have better salaries, if there wouldn't be the possibility to recruit and train more caregivers and nurses from Philippines and other countries. That idea is based on simplified assumptions of how the labour market works, so probably not a rally justified idea.

I think the government policies seem pretty straight forward. Contrary to the belief of some I don’t think they are really that extreme. Immigration has never had any real restrictions in Finland and in recent years numbers of migrants has increased dramatically. Skilled Immigrants are certainly needed but in sustainable numbers. Immigration should always be looked at in the perspective of the long term not short term and as such lower consistent numbers of the course of many years is better than a few years of aggressive and inconsistent immigration that does not give the country time to prepare infrastructure and integrate newcomers. These policies don’t really target skilled workers anyway.

Thank you very much for this informative content. Just a quick question. If the annual salary is over 40000 Euros, that person can apply for PR after 4 years not the six years?

Thank you for your question! However, for precise and up-to-date information regarding PR eligibility based on salary and residency duration, it's best to refer to the Finnish Immigration Service's official website: migri.fi/en/home. They can provide you with the most accurate and detailed information on the PR application process and requirements.
