It's really interesting seeing his first attempt at this program in competition and seeing what wasn't in the choreography yet. He's absolutely spent here--it's somehow both painful and heartwarming to watch when he lays on the ice. He definitely gained a lot of stamina as the year went on, that's for sure! He was at my age in this performans, when i remember this, i feel so useless. Like i haven't ever been succesfull at anything i've started. Then, even if watching him makes me sad, i also feel angry to myself. im askin myself "why cant i do something?" or "why am i not succesfull?" and im trying harder about things that i love to do. Short story, he teachs me that succes is not about trying to be succesfull, it is about trying to be good and passionate. I hope i can teach these important matters to other people too.

Notre-Dame de Paris, choreo. by David Wilson ? wow, I love most of the programs DW made for Yuna Kim but I don't think DW has found the best program for Yuzuru, even the one at Sochi. Something was missing in the choreography, making it look like fragments. I love Yuzuru and I hope he can have some epic programs. Wish him get the second gold medal in 2018 Korea Olympics and redeem himself.

I sorta agree, my favorite free program so far since he started training in Canada is his Phantom of the Opera program which was actually choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne (hope he continues to work with her :D) and I also have loved all his short programs that Jeff Buttle has choreographed. Can't wait till next season, apparently he said he will start putting a quad in the second half of his long program like Javier. Can't wait :)

He started with DW wanting a romeo & juliet. 😂 sadly, DW was conflicted since he was with patrick that time (or he just finished the program with patrick)... so he declined and suggested the notre dame which he finds fairly similar to R&J. Theeen 😂 the next season was when R&J happened (i think it was r&j, which he practically begged David to give him the program, writing a long email and all) But DW confessed that even he did not like the program he made. It just wasn’t his all... prolly due to the same reason (even with the OG, he wasn’t happy). Yuzu’s def a strong personality on ice 😂 So yeah. The change to Shae-Lynn was great with phantom! Since then, he and DW be making great gala perfs CRYSTAL MEMORY!)

After Tohoku earthquake he went from 1 ice show to another to get money and opportunity to use the ice rink for practice. There he met many famous skaters and got chance to learn on hand from them. Johnny Weir and Stephane Lambiel are among them. That's why he never forget them in his ice shows up to now.

It seems that he will only use it privately. I've only ever seen him use his reliever behind the scenes and turned away from camera's. It would be so easy for the press to have defined him by his illness rather than his skills in his chosen sport. I'm always learning something shockingly new through YT videos such as having abdominal surgery as soon as he arrived back in Japan after he was involved in that awful warm up crash, and when he had a pain killing injection in his right ankle so he could continue to compete, he won gold!

This reminds me of when Mao Asada splashed into the scene back in 2005/06. Amazing jumps, horrible artistry. The program needs to be re-arranged. You can tell the 2nd half of the program is pure jumps with no smooth connections in between. I wonder what happened to this guy, he had great artistry last season. Let's hope he can get it back.
