that's interesting cuz in their songs there are a lot of similar lines here and there but this time their saying completely opposite ideas.. tho if you thibk about it Billie is talking about dying and Finneas is talking more about loosing people he loves so idk

I had the exact same reaction. The last chorus suddenly hits so hard. I just realized it reminds me of your power where line after line you start to realize it is not "only" about a breakup but some really hard underlying things.

The only bad thing about this song is the fact that it came out the same day as Adele's and I feel like it was a bit overshadowed by it. The song is amazing. I guess I like Billie just because Finneas a big part of her music, he's such a genuine artist, it's rare, we need to treasure that

Ok, it's gonna be a book, sorry not sorry. The title is true and with any relationship where you have real love, it's gonna hurt at some point. They are going to hurt you and vise versa. It's crazy the feeling you get when you realize the your loving someone is hurting them (jealousy like he says). I heard someone say yesterday that Finneas sings in the second person quite a bit, thus allowing the listener to be put in the first person in his shoes. With the second half of the song, with his parents... Your love for them is ultimately going to hurt you. Someone told me a long time ago that grief is the most raw and beautiful expression of love. I really think that's true. As for the car accident, I wonder if he had a friend die like that because this is not the first time he has referenced that in his music. Consensus, Finneas is a musical genius. Their mom must have a golden uterus and their dad adds the swag. Love that family so much.
