NB. There is nothing in the historical record to indicate an act of widespread infanticide took place, in the middle east, around year 0. If there were, it would help to confirm the actual year of the nativity, and the veracity of the biical story. The Roman administration were qite good at record keeping. Finney ore is a hoot. Would love to see more of his stuff animated.

The reason it was all boys under 2 is that Jesus was actually a toddler by the time of the arrival of the magi (wise men).

The Gospel of Mathew which contains the Magi story doesn't mention a stable.

Its just a antisemitic story. By this time Christians were kissing Roman ass and trying to separate from the Jews (who were being slaughtered by Romans). That's why only Mathew mentions (with none of the later lore details) the visit. Its supposed to beef up the counterargument of 'why don't the rest of the Jews see him as Messiah?'.
