I am a 49-year-old military police officer from Finnish Lapland. Finns are the best in the world at fighting in the cold. We can handle the cold and the equipment is the best. -40 below freezing in Lapland in winter. Others freeze, Lapland's defenders warm up.

Most of us do military service. We have 900 thousand combat aged and trained men. Its fun to think when you walk in public, the office worker might be a cannon commander or a leopard driver. The dude serving your food might be a medic etc..

Finland has general conscription so our reserve is almost 500k or something around that, even if we are a small people. Army service is still held in high regard, most males go through it and often the late night evening talks tend to go to remembering their service. You could almost say finns are a warrior society still. Not really, but probably the closest in europe.

You said that you like that flag,me too,im finn,so what those colours means is,white is snow,blue is lakes,finland is known of lots of lakes and snow on winter,but it allso means bright nights on summer and pure white (clean bright) nights,and that cross means Christian country
