How the heck does this work?

I don't know. But there's probably a reason why the graphics consist mainly of horizontal lines drawn in a few colours. Could it be some kind of optical illusion where the length and position of the lines are varied to make one line look as if part of it is on top and the rest behind?

​@@fox-in-the-green Probably ... I am counting four layers of which two are striped. The top layer is probably sprites. Beats me.
