Hello ma’am this was helpful. But i want to be clear on something In our previous lesson on KPT, we had ‘T’ changing to ‘D’ but here herätä was changed to herään instead of heradän. I’m a bit confuse

Hi, thanks for your comment! "Herätä" belongs to verb type 4 in which all the verbs end -ta/tä. The verb "herätä" does not undergo consonant gradation at all (herään, heräät, herää, heräämme, heräätte, heräävät). Thank you ❤ it's very confused lesson! In the KPT lesson T changed to D and here lähteä (T ) changed to D. What did happen here teacher? And at the spoken part, (D) also droppet ! Please be clear me...

Thanks for your comment! In verbtype 1 LÄHTEÄ, the strong form (t) is in the infinitive and 3rd person forms hän and he. All the other forms have the weak form (d). With verbtypes 3, 4 and 6, only the infinitive takes the weak form. I hope this helps. The more you use and listen to the language, the more automatic these changes become.
