Beautifully executed! If I only had the thousands of dollars in epuipment I could do this myself! But I dont. So, this didnt help me with my "hung" trees....and I dont have the money to pay a skilled logger....sooo, hope and pray it is. Be aware of surroundings and always have an "out"....we can rebuild the "poophouse" if needed. 😂

I think that I might have added more clicks on the come-along to the lines first before making the back-cut? Only to add more pull tension on the trees, for added security? But nice job though? Even though you were okay with what the tension was on the lines?

A few seconds earlier you can see him checking the diameter of the tree against the length of his bar, and finding out that it doesn't quite reach all the way through. Edit: I was wrong. Apparently he's doing it in any case to better see how close to the hinge wood the crosscut is getting,

I think the Finglish is great. Very skilled work. Looks like your mature spruce is in a 30m reserve against the lake and the bush behind was a previous stand harvested @ 15 years ago, or a fire. Those big veteran trees always at risk of blow down at some point.
