Fionna and Cake - Winter Wonder World (Storyboards)

Hey y'all! Here're my boards for the Winter King's song, "Winter Wonder World", written by Patrick McHale & Joshua Kauffman, performed by Brian David Gilbert! As a long time Adventure Time fan & given Simon is my favorite character, this was such an immense joy to get to do! (Revisions by Steve Wolfhard!) I genuinely cannot put into words how amazing you did storyboarding this sequence. It’s easily my favorite sequence in the episode because of how beautifully sung, animated and storyboarded it is! The choreography you did for the storyboard is so cool and flows so insanely well- Amazing job!!! And thank you so much for making this song even greater with your art, You are huge inspiration to me as a young animator and artist, and you should be extremely proud!! :D

So here I was, minding my own business, when I see THIS. This is absolutely my favorite visual sequence of the year, and to see that you boarded it is SOOOO cool, you did an incredible job, my jaw DROPPED when I saw it the first time.

This was an amazing storyboard! My personal headcannon for this Universe is that Marcelline died young (hence ice Marcy). Marcelline would've never let Simon do that to Bubblegum if she was still alive. I like to imagine that OUR Simon's LACK of self control saved HIS Marcelline, because he used the crown to save her from the mutants when she was young. This one had more self control, but lost his daughter, and escaped to his own self made delusion (The Winter kingdom/IceMarcy/His selfish transfering of his curse)

Idk if this was intentional but I interpreted winter kings adjustment of his jacket (even tho it was too short to need adjusting) as he sat down to be an indicator that he is not what he seems and is doing things for appearances rather than legitimacy.
