Fira is better than Oia. Best place to stay , beautiful view for Nea Kameni(volcano), prefect for short trips around the island Santorini, beautiful sunsets,cable car, paradise for shopping,restaurant many things to do and cheaper than Oia. Obligatory stay in hotel on the cliff.

We have only just returned from Santorini and I have to agree Fira is better than Oia. We walked to Oia for the sunset but it actually turned out to be cloudy so after a look around we caught the bus back saying we could go another night. As it turned out we didn't return as we did actually think the views of the sunset were much better in Fira as it is directly opposite the volcano. And yes if you are staying there you need to be on the cliff side, stunning views.😄

I loved seeing the streets and alleys and waterfront...so beautiful. The images and videos switched so fast, though, that my eyes barely had time to focus between. Would have been nice to have an extra few seconds to enjoy them. :)

Very nice shots and excelent video quality, but for me there are very disturbing transitions between shots. I think the faders are too long relative to the lenght of shots. But thanks for the vids of my next holiday destination :-)

They are quite fine. Next time you are there..go and see how they are taken care of, and talk to the villagers. A smack on the butt is the worst thing in their lives. No predators, all the food they want, and exercise and activity, with zero abuse. Don't project your own potential behavior onto pple you haven't even talked to.

Sharon - must recommend a trip on a Catamaran. We went on the Dream Catcher. I think it was 80 euro each inc. amazing food (beer & wine included) and had a memorable day. If you are up to it, a day on a quad bike (ATV) is great - just be careful and drive within your limits. Everywhere is so stunning, it's a small island so make sure you see all of it....buses are very cheap and frequent as well so that's another option to get around. TripAdvisor best restaurants tended to be very good but use your instincts, if you like the look of somewhere just give it a go.

I would recommend to avoid big boats, including Catamaran, and wake up early to taste some places before people coming. Santorini was so crowded when I went there, three years ago. I am very positively impressed by recent video Santorini, by Yuri Palma, because he captured (with best videomaking skill I've ever seen...) a magic atmosphere in, I believe, early hours of the days

Yes I was there in 1998 and I'm ethnic Greek. It is an active super volcano that has been reclassified on the vie scale of 7 or a super volcano. The last eruption was 1600 B.C. It has become a tourist hotspot so I imagine it's more expensive now.

Fira hotels cost from 200 Euro per night, I recommended also Firostefani Hotels. If is too expensive spend at least 1-2 night than move to cheaper one, island tour need to be booked in advance online, volcano tour you can buy in old port Fira whenever you want-anytime, i recommended just visit red beach better beach to spend time is Perissa and Kamari. Island tour include , red beach,akritori ruins, perissa beach, winery, hihgest mountain/point visit, oia sunset,

It's easy to make video in Santorini, with sun .. but too long (6 7 min it's enough) 'cos no effort of editing video, sequences that are repeated, an end with the nightlife that mixes (restaurants, view, restaurants, caldera view) it's bad ! no value as pictures .. pity
