For detectors at one zone you have to check the manufacturer technical specifications that how much is the max current.. suppose you have 1 amp max current in one zone you can distribute the detectors by distributing the current.. you have to do voltage drop calculation also .. suppose detectors operating voltage is 17- 28 v then you should maintain that at the last of the detector it should be minimum 17 V. For that u can use voltage drop formula and put the cable manufacturer resistance value per km. For sounder or bell circuit you have to also perform voltage drop calculation then you can decide how many sounder in in zone you can install you have to keep in mind that there will be quiescent current and alarm current.. you have calculate voltage drop at both .. then finally you can find the battery calculation also .. that at normal condition how much back-up of battery if power is off and in the case of fire or alarm mode how much is the back-up... generally it is considered 15- 30 minutes at alarm mode and 24 hours at normal mode...
