With the top tier helicopters they literally just press buttons so far from the battlefield that most AA can't touch them.

@@masterhacker7065 You can't "simulate real life" while omitting some of the most deciding factors and doing nothing to balance it out. It's like a plane "simulator" that lacks gravity. It's just some random arcade BS at this point. if the goal was to "simulate", then Gaijin would at least try to compensate for the lack of infantry in some way. But they don't. The game absolutely lacks soft targets, there is around 0 reason to carry HE around, and air combat is a joke. I mean - they modelled the bad balance of Fw 190 when low on fuel - because IRL with 20 minutes of fuel, you were either landing or close to the airfield, so no one cared about the handling as long, as you could comfortably land. Now in game 20 minutes of fuel is STANDARD amount, almost nobody takes more, because the air realistic battles take place in extremely unrealistic setting. So, to simulate the RL conditions they should either: - force people, to fly with 45m amount of fuel minimum, which is fairly reasonable - adjust the plane performance, so 20m of fuel balances the plane like 45m or 60m of fuel IRL. But they do neither. So in effect the combat performance of Fw 190 is as far from realistic, as it can be.

From my experience as a Brit main, I can confidently say that the Stormers missiles still sometimes phase through helis (even when they're hovering) and jets. It is still better off used as a Tank Destroyer. Yeeting the Russians with the Stormer is highly satisfying.

The new loadout representation is amazing, although the way it slots different items as though they can't be used together highlights how strange loadouts can be. For example, Swordfish; carries a torpedo in the middle and bombs on the wings, but can't carry both at the same time even though they're relying on different places for mounting.

Often something like what you're proposing would be ahistorical (against doctrine) or would outright exceed MTOF of the aircraft. Even if there is a historical or possible loadout missing in WT you have to remember that much like fuel quantities being forced, this is something that's often done as soft balance for aircraft. It can go both ways - for example late Meteor jets are able to go out with only 8 minutes of fuel so they can be more competitive against Korean era jets that are forced to take 20 minutes of fuel.

Hey phly. The map squares on Kursk are 400m long. With some basic math, I've been able to lob shots with glorious SU-122 to get HE kills at 2km+. Trigonometry kicks ass. Also, there's different sized map squares for each map, for example, Karelia's squares are 100m long, and other maps tend to be 200m long, but it varies.
