Why did fire ladder appliance take so long to get water on fire?? Thought they were supposed to be experienced firemen!

I am not sure they seemed to wait till it was well alight was wondering if they where waiting for the roof to go through so they could get to the fire

They can't just start putting water on it in huge amounts whilst firefighters are inside. All that would happen is the temperature would rocket and essentially cook the firefighters. They are experienced hence waiting.

ALP can't start pumping water until the building is fully evacuated. The power of that water jet is sufficient to knock down already weakened walls / ceilings, so the building must be cleared first of all firefighters, etc.

When I left I Was outside b&ms. First time was when I came outside Primark tried to go down winter garden and then got it blocked off so had to walk down to b&ms then down Talbot road
