the term “yura” (also yureru) can indicate swaying or swirling! :) very fitting with the water theme if you ask me
@neoonewingedren18363 жыл бұрын
This isn't the direct translation, it's more of an adaptation and goddamn I really like the oficial one besides some minor things but this one is sick and could easily be the oficial english lyrics
"Yurari yurureri" is just some sort of... Effect phrase? Based on the words "yura-yura" and "yureru", both meaning "swaying / to sway". I'd translate it to something along the lines of "Swaying and fluttering so".

@AuraKumo1044 жыл бұрын
The English version sounds like it is sung by a voice actor that can sing decently, but isn't a professional singer. It sounds a bit clunky and it doesn't flow the way it should. The Japanese version on the other hand is clearly sung by a professional singer and sounds beautiful and soothing. I actually speak Japanese and I can tell that the words blend together perfectly. I think this sounds much better than the English version. But the English version is decent, I mean she is able to sing the notes on key correctly.

The Japanese version is _so_ beautiful. Her voice is gentle but not weak, and so perfect for this song and Azura. Well to be fair There are 3 things that you gotta count on to make a perfect song dubbing. 1: *where does the original and the dubbed takes place on* In this case Japanese to English Japaneses tend to have a more calm voice while western people a more deep voice, its hard to find someone with a voice as calm as the original singer 2: *syllables* Because a song cannot be directly translated, otherwise syllables won't fit because either the word is too long or too short for the rythm after being translated, so you gotta alter the lyrics when dubbing but still try to make it have a meaning as similar as possible to the original while fitting with the rythm on top of it. 3: *pronunciations* Because every language have different ways to pronounce words of their language, words in japanese can sometimes sound calm/cute because of how its pronounced While in english it doesnt really.

Reminds me of some classic fantasy songs I've heard in anime, from Record of Loddoss War and Yoko Kanno. It's beautiful. I almost feel like it's wasted in a game because of how much that limits the audience who'll normally get to hear it. Really makes you appreciate how many beautiful things pass under people's radars.

The firsts 20 second of the song is probably one of the most grounding melody I every heard in music. Like you can't help but to stop what your doing and just listen. So painfully sad, is as if my heart being cut a little by knife.

I see a lot of people preferring the English version for Nohr and this version for Hoshido, which in hindsight makes sense. Nohr and Hoshido are heavily based off Western and Eastern parts of the world respectively.

I wish there were an option to change languages for this game. I prefer the Japanese version over the English. I think it's just a rule of thumb that the original of anything is better. You're not going to watch That's so Raven in Japanese cuz it was originally an American show.
@amburprice84798 жыл бұрын
+Tsumura Tokiko I disagree, if I spoke Japanese and not English, I would much rather watch an american show with Japanese dub rather than Japanese sub. I hate watching subs because I feel like it just takes all the emotion out of everything (Might as well watch it with no volume in my opinion). There's nothing wrong with watching it subs if that is how you prefer it, it's just not for me.
@Medbread8 жыл бұрын
+Ambur Price I understand where you're coming from. However, for me I feel like watching something dubbed takes away the original emotion and some of the jokes only understood if it were in that language. For example, in Steins;Gate, there is a scene where the main character tries to speak to an African American in English, but fails because of his limited English vocabulary. The line goes "I am mad scientist! It's so cool!! Sunovabitch!", and the man replies "Hai(Yes)". He then realizes the man could speak Japanese the entire time. In the dub, he says something along the lines of "Word to your mother" to which the man replies "Sorry, I don't speak jive." The joke is lost in translation. Also, the aura of a Japanese series is different compared to an American series, so the dub is forced to try and fit the lines in with the Japanese animation, while their language forcefully gives the show a different feeling. This leaves it in an awkward "in-between" area. However, there are still-

@amburprice84798 жыл бұрын
+Tsumura Tokiko Yeah, this is why I think there should be dub and subs, so people can choose which they prefer. It's a real bummer this game doesn't have that option :/
@Medbread8 жыл бұрын
+Ambur Price Yes, having the option to choose was my original suggestion, and I agree that FEIF would have been that much better if we had the option.

The problem with making a Japanese song then translating it to English is that you end up having to adjust the syllabification to fit the flow that was intended in the Japanese song. I find that's a similar problem with most Fire Emblem main themes. It ends up feeling forced and so the original Japanese version always sounds the most natural.
@lostinthoughtsallalone Жыл бұрын
