It's probably due to mods, when I played just Engage the game never crashed on me with Ryujinx, using mods it runs less stable, but Mangs PC is beefier than mine. Yuzu seems to work better recently, but after like 2 hours in one chapter + mods it also might crash, just very hard to know at this point what the most important factor is.

@Abundy I agree. Mods are definitely the main culprit here since it's also happening to other streamers like Zev. At this point it would be best to just leave only the essentials enabled (or just go back to vanilla Engage, if possible.) and disable the rest. Maybe the crash logs can give a clue what's going on?

@@Thalzo Yeah, Mangs should send his logs to someone he knows to identify which mod caused this. My guess would be the 60fps mod.

@ For cosmetic mods, it's a problem only when the emulator loads them for the first time in the session. 60fps changes the game's normal speed and double the charge of work.

Really good decision, not throwing away the run after that demolishing crash. It was being very climatic, very engaging one may say, so many close calls, but you were getting through and the end was very very close. So close that you could even touch it. That crash was devastating, there is no coming back from that in the same stream. Time needed to be taken, and thats what you did. Congrats Mangs, seems like being sick makes you wiser. You should try it a bit more. Yikes!!

The crash saved the run. Hope he doesn’t use warp skip strats because of new knowledge. Still unfortunate that it crashed but be honest with the redo attempt like the boat chapter earlier in the run

@@Teinve of course not. It crashed when it was doing the Engage Blast animation. It was going his way until the crash, units were carrying and things were stabilizing. @staltrix Personally, I feel he still had a good chance, but if that was it, it would've been worthwhile. If the run had ended after the engage blast by the enemy, it would've been fine. But crashing and losing for being tilted, THAT would have been a sad way to end it.

If the game crashes, go to continue and load the auto-save, that will load the game from your last completed turn

Probably not comparable, but I also lost a lot of progress in Ocarina of Time due to a crash. It took me an eternity to catch that damn fish at the fishing pond to get the Golden Scale, and as soon as I got it, my emulator crashed, so I didn't even get a chance to save. It's incredibly frustrating.

The stream was great despite everything. Framme helping Ivy to hold the line was epic My guess Mangs doesn't wanna do it, which is fine, just putting here the suggestion for maybe one day; The bookmark save method might be too convoluted to do every turn, but it's reasonable after certain amount of turns, let's say for example, every 10 turns. Loading things tends to be problematic, and this chapter has lots of units constantly spawning. Furthermore, I said some streams ago, and I'll repeat, Bronzeman (ironman, but the save deletion is done by you rather than the game) is better. Ironman for anything beyond retro games is a murphy's law ticket for frustration. Reason retro games can get away, is because the retro are so much more simple, that the entire game can be saved into savestates, rather than making a save files. Either way, well rest egg, still looking forward the finale!

Now im going to probably get people salty at me here. While reloading the map because of the crash is completely fine, but then proceeding to retry the map to then quit and claim youll restart next time because you made a mistake while tilted is not particularly ironman friendly?

No you are completely right if anyone gets salty at you they are idiots. It's not really Ironman anymore if he restarts the current map, an Ironman is no resetting which he oftens tells people who ask what an Ironman is. What makes Ironmans also challenging is you live with your mistakes and misplays he botched the warp strat even if tilted from the crash which sucks as he was pretty much done with the first attemept and was likely smooth sailing from that point before the crash. He also used the free 20 DLC silvers you get which is a massive resource advantage so it's not really a no DLC run either as there is an option to only accept updated patch item gifts and no DLC gifts. Just reading his chat though he does gets a lot of terrible advice and ideas, but you gotta "Engage" with them as a streamer. I think he should just finish the run just for the clarity of beating the game and come back to it at a later day for a real attempt at a Maddening Ironman no DLC run.

Agreed the restart after the crash makes sense, should of tried for the "sameish" moves but whatever. But 100% alt f4ing out of the game because of being mad due to a mess up is a done run, why wouldn't anyone just do that every run now? There is no way this run is still valid.
