We arrive at the port town of Dia, where we once again meet with hoshidan forces and must protect our territory from them! Their leader, however, is none other than Takumi.
This chapter is pretty tough and a nice wake-up call to how difficult Conquest can be. On turn 7, regardless of his actions on that turn, Takumi will always activate a Dragon Vein that will drain all the water, allowing everyone to walk wherever they please. However, if we kill him before that happens, we can get much more manageable late turns. In lunatic, though, this strategy requires that the rest of your army is strong enough to handle the enemy without the avatar or Camilla. So that's why I used the two Master Seals from the shop already. Good luck if you decide to go for it.

New Units:
- Camilla: The elder princess of Nohr. An extremely affectionate older sister and mother figure. She's a beast on a dragon! Camilla sports very good stats all around. Even her mag isn't bad, as her class is a mix offender and has some of the highest potential for growth since her internal level is lower than others (meaning she'll get exp faster but still caps at 20). Her hp and lck are a little low, but still. Probably the best axe user in the game...
- Selena: A mercenary of unknown origins now serving princess Camilla. She's spunky and aggressive, but also has a loving side. She's a pretty solid mercenary, actually, with good growths in spd and def. Her hp and skl are decent, but her str is a bit low. Not that you can't patch up low str, though. I won't use her in this run, but she can definitely work in the long run.
- Beruka: An assassin since youth, now serving princess Camilla. Quiet and unexpressive. As a wyvern knight, she's pretty bulky. Good hp, skl and def. However, her str and spd are low and will most likely hinder her late game potential. She's an excellent pair-up partner, at least.

This map is fantastic and so much fun to play through. Defeating Takumi before he can use the DV is an interesting strategy, i've never tried that. It is also a good map to show how much easier the game becomes with the visitor/battle rewards (especially the Dual Katana and the Calamity Gate). During my last two playthroughs i've managed to kill every enemy on the map besides Takumi (i would not be able to achieve that without the rewards) ^^ For people who struggle with this map some minor Tipps regarding Camilla: - she can one round every single oni savage on this map if you give her a magic tonic - she can one round Oboro (therefore not suffering the strength debuff) with the Iron Axe from Arthur - she doesn't need any kind of pair-up to destroy most of the map

I just completed this chapter myself (on Lunatic\Classic, of course. I'm not a casual scrub like the Hoshidans.) Truly, a well-designed, epic defense map for the ages. That one chapter is an entire game in of itself.

I got to thank you, while I've had the game for many years, doing my own challenges and victories over the Lunatic Modes. I never actually encounter Takumi head-on, but thanks to your guide. I manage to get to him with Beruka in my "No Royals" Challenge. But awesome video and unique guide for Lunatic. I never did consider promotion my units this early in the game till I started watching your playthrough.

The fact that I grinded 6 paralogues on casual-normal,and still had difficulties on the last 2 chapters of this route and had 1 gameover tells how difficult this route truly is, I lost Kana and Kayne to possesed Takumi and only won because Effie had too much Def/Res to take damage and Xander kept criting everyone, while Laslow did his best to clear a path....

I beat it without promoting and playing as a defense chapter, but yeah, it was hell finding a winning strategy. In the end I won thanks to sheer dumb luck and the blessing that is the freeze staff. Definitely didn't get to Takumi.

Going back to this on another run, I ironed out my strategy for this map (with a bit of inspiration from this video). At this point, I did Invasion 1 for the exp to level up everyone to lvl 10 and on par with Corrin, and I think it's partly why this strategy works better than it should. For battle prep, I bought a Master Seal to promote Jakob, a Bronze Axe and Javelin for Effie, and a few tonics here and there for Effie, Odin, Silas, and Corrin, and a magic tonic and Arthur's Iron Axe on Azura to trade to Camilla. Silas gets a Vulnerary because he'll need to soak hits. It is also important not to overuse the defense tonics though, cuz I had a problem with Corrin when she had too much def to bait some of the Oni Savages. For the actual map, I find it is important to have someone who can bust through Ninjas through the Steel Shuriken debuff, so I picked Effie with the Javelin. And for her backpack, I had Arthur for his fast support growth and Fighter pair up stats. I had Effie and Odin go down far left, and Elise for support after getting the Village with the Master Seal. There, I promoted Effie mid-chapter into a Great Knight for the extra movement. Niles and Mozu manned the south Ballista and can also go below the wall to kill some of the fliers. Corrin with Jakob backpack was sent down to the right where she really only needed to face Oni Savages. This leaves Silas to tank the archers on the right with the vulneraries (no need to retaliate, he just needs to choke the point). The left side with the Oni Savages is left vulnerable but there's no need to get there immediately because of the wall. Camilla comes with Beruka and Selena, so I sent Camilla with the Selena backpack to handle Oboro and fliers. I prefer having Selena as backup for the extra stats and for avoiding dual strikes. Trading the Iron Axe over means I don't have to use skill or luck tonics to reliably hit fliers, and the magic tonic means Camilla can orko Oni Savages from range. After killing Oboro, Camilla just needed to fly back to kill the Oni Savages with Thunder. I sent Beruka over to Silas to backpack and that's it. After zerg rushing Takumi with Effie and Odin, the chapter becomes so incredibly easy, and I think it's absolutely worth killing Takumi to have less chaotic last turns. And it makes for a really satisfying result since I killed every enemy (besides the archers since Silas can't counterattack). I have all my pairs of Arthur and Effie, Odin and Elise, Beruka and Silas, and Niles and Mozu, even though I'm really only doing most of them for the paralogues only. This is absolutely one of the best chapters in the game or even the series, though this is probably the coldest take on the planet. But still, the amount of planning of who's gonna go where and even *what can I do to make this strategy even more reliable* solidifies this as my favourite chapter. The only problem for me is Effie's shaky hit rate with the Javelin and on Takumi (this is why I gave her the bronze axe), but a little bit of rng is fine for me since it's all in the first 6 turns before the DV activation.

@@luunam4722 My strategy changed a lot since I’ve last played. Promotion though is still a very convenient way of getting to kill thresholds you normally wouldn’t, all you really need is a unit you know you’re not taking with you later on in the game (like Haitaka).

This is definitely one of the best defense maps in Fire Emblem. Ironically, I think that this is because playing it as a defense map is kind of a pitfall. Takumi activating the Dragon Vein coupled to swarms of enemies coming in at the end makes turtling up ineffective as you wind up having to fend off too many foes at a time. When I played this map on Lunatic, I was most effective when attempting to rush a rout tactic. Bring the battle to the enemy and take them out quickly. I was surprised to see you early promoted Silas (I was expecting Elise, she can do very well as she is with Nyx's hand-me-down Fire tome while the latter sticks to Odin's discarded Thunder and her own Fimbulvetr). Early promotion isn't so bad, even for characters you'll bring to the late game. Silas is only slightly weaker than Camilla and she starts off at the same level as him.

About Beruka, I took the time to train her. Married her to Benny even and I had both of them learn Wary Fighter and reclass into Wyvern Lord. They were a godsend in Chapter 26 as they allowed me to setup an effective choke point when opening the doors to the room with Generals and Berserkers who simply couldn't take them out while I wore them down. These two could take hits like there was no tomorrow.

Hadn't thought about General Beruka, she does have a really great defense growth. That sounds like a great strat for ch 26, that one is seriously hard if you don't have two units that can tank the last room's enemies.

You don't want to tank with Generals, though. If I recall correctly, some of the units there are packing Hammers and Beast Killers. That's why I opted for Wyvern Lords over Generals/Great Knights. They're a bit more vulnerable in the beginning against the enemy Heroes with Wyrmslayers, but if you managed to reach L15 with them, they also have the Swordbreaker skill and weapon advantage with Lances.

I must say, this chapter is really hard if you don't kill Takumi fast enough and not using any seals to upgrade your army. I have been trying beat this level and It took me a whole day to figure it out.

Facts, first thing I did at the start of the chapter is pair up Corrin with Dark Flier Elise, and fly him over to Takumi and end him. He can make this chapter much worse if you don't kill him quick enough.

I did it, I fucking did it. I didn't take Mozu (was saving her paralogue and the invasion until after to train Beruka and Selena, since I don't like Mozu and won't use her anyways) or use any DLC, but I am afraid I did rely on a few of the reward weapons to complete it. Still, I did good! My Corrin who was reclassed as a fighter put in a lot of work and I didn't even have to early promote anyone. Silas is still just a cavalier. Honestly, I don't think any other stage has made me feel as good about myself after completing it as this one did. It was so hard but also so, SO much fun.

This is rlly late but a strategy that I used was a made Elise into a dark flier, and paired her up with dread fighter M! Corrin, and ferried him over to Takumi so he can get rid of him. But then it gets hectic after that because then spear masters and ninjas kill both Corrin and Elise (After replaying a save over and over Elise managed to survive a bit longer), and I tried forming like some sort of defensive line on the green tiles so that nobody could break through, but they always eventually do either by sniping away my flier units with archers or just getting rid of my other units with spear fighters. I even tried reclassing Odin into a samurai and that didn't even work. But even then this is still one of my favorite chapters in the game, I love chapters that make you use your brain a lot, they're always most fun ones.

In my run I made Odin into a samurai, but I also made mozu into an archer. Because of this, there wasn’t really any space for Arthur on the team, so the strategy you used here couldn’t work for me. I ALMOST made it with no casualties but I had to sacrifice Nyx in the last turn. I thought it was worth tho cuz I was only really gonna keep her around so Leo could MAYBE marry her lol

All my people are between lvl 10 and 11, so I can promote everybody, but I don't know who to choose knowing that I'll have to throw them after. My Unit is strong in speed and weak in magic, and he is samourai (changed when he reach lvl 10 as basic class) so cannot use draconic stone anymore :'(, he is much weaker than expected....

@@Aureels it sounds like your avatar might have to play pair-up in this map to boost someone else's speed. I make mine a samurai too but after this map. You can try promoting Silas and pairing him with your avatar so he can one-round the oni savages. Just promote two units that you know won't be part of your final team. There are plenty of master seals later. Try watching more of my playthrough to get an idea of how I prepare my party as I move on. Also restarting the game might not be a bad idea if you feel like your avatar should use their dragonstone in this chapter.

the problem is the ice: I've already gone to turn 12 but I failed two time in that turn because when that bastard of Takumi freeze the water, I just can't resist anymore. So the solution should be to kill him but your methode use the dragon stone, that up much the protection to physical attack... I don't think that my unit can manage to survive to a Takumi shot (It's the third time I restart the game :p) Update: I did it! I won!............... But only 5 of my soldiers survived..... :'( They all died in the last turn.... Let's try again!

I repeated the map two days long and got it. I don't know how I passed trough, I just don't know, it was hell. I've got no words for the relief I felt after returning to my castle. Is every next map in Conquest that hard? Also, I started refering to Camilla as Death itself, since she is such a tank like Frederick in Awakening, she beats everyone and is weak only to archers XD

If playing on Lunatic, from the start you have to level your units in a balanced way so that they're all at least level 10 for this battle. If you haven't done Mozu's Paralogue or Invasion 1, you should do those to grind some more levels.

Whole day to make my own testing for this stratery. With same condition: 4/10 guard gauge, place to atk, Hinata surround, against Takumi turn 4... And without Draco fang, this stratery sure fail even my male Corrin higher lv and def. Smart advice: if u used this stratery, must pray RNG god for Draco strike. That doesn't sound right. If Dragon Fang doesn't proc and you hit Takumi on a counterattack, all you have to do is attack him again in the next turn to finish him off. You get a full dual guard gauge, too, to protect yourself from Hinata's attack.

Otherwise Fates game always favour player with miss even 97% hit rate. U forget need kill Takumi, Corrin must twice successed atk with 73% hit. Just i said pray RNG god if player use this stratery
