Well, the kind of music he may get depends on his personality, Nifl seems cold and distant, calm and collected, so he's likely gonna be the opossite, passionate (as in "burning passion") and agressive, maybe even a little insane, so maybe more of a rock/metal theme? Or maybe something heavy but still god-like similar to Twilight of the Gods, with strong beats rather than the elegant piano and orchestra in Nilf's theme, or IS could just reuse this, who knows :/

We don't know why they're gathering heroes(the enemies from each book). On the Valentines banner Lif said that he is going to find out what the gods are up to, and what they want with the heroes, Thrasir of course, helping him. In a way, he's setup to double cross the bad guys.

This is basically Indomitable Will with double the BPM and more of the the 3+3+2 metre we got in the other new BGM. I haven't checked for one-to-one correspondence, but my intuition says the harmonies are almost if not identical. The orchestration I haven't been able to pick apart, but it's this same melody in a red, violent tone (strings with trumpet maybe? Might be using wordless voice too) with boomy chords underneath, only the balance between melody and percussion is much heavier here on percussion and the accompanying (background) figuration in the upper register is far more active. The melody has the same outline in both tracks: a downward step, then an upward step from about a third or a fourth lower, then a few descending notes starting from about the opening pitch, and then another descent. The most obvious differences are the doubling or tripling of the number of heavy beats (per second or per minute, not per measure), which gives this track a furiously fast pace and makes it tiring quickly in the absence of contrasting sections, and much greater use of 3+3+2 metre marked, in the measures where it appears (other measures are just a straightforward four subdivided down the middle), using bass notes that signal harmonic changes. The weak pulses after the bass notes have chords in the middle register, so that the oom-pah-pah-oom-pah-pah-oom-pah pattern articulates the metre clearly. There are some deeper differences which are less obvious but arguably more significant. Indomitable Will leads into the melody of Fodlan Winds, as to say "this is the climax of the tension that was present from the first battle between the classes." This track doesn't have such a long story arc behind it, and the composer doesn't try to claim any development nearly as great in scale. After the two iterations of the melodic motive, it's just...two long notes, one whole step apart. Not even a semitone. There is only a weak sense of the track driving to a conclusion like the other new track does in its third section, and to the extent it exists in this track, the harmony does most of the work after the two statements of the melodic motive. Additionally, I read from Indomitable Will a sense of tearing the very foundation of the continent and all social order apart, or perhaps even the entire cosmos. The feeling was incredibly deep. The sense of conflict with cosmic implications is in this track too, but the part about tearing the foundation of society apart I do not sense. Easily one of the most intense tracks in the game, and a very good one for its length. Not something most people would probably enjoy listening to for minutes on end because it doesn't have much contrast within itself, but for a final boss map which will usually end within 2-3 loops, it's great. We got a huge musical treat with this update. I especially praise the orchestration, which I find unique, the skillful use of well-crafted beats, and well-chosen harmonies which aren't especially innovative but very effective, especially the way they were used to generate some interesting melodies.

Honestly I prefer that they're moving the overall plot forward with special events. It helps a lot with dangling plot threads and introducing characters like Nifl and Muspell who could otherwise not be introduced in a non-awkward way

honestly I don't mind it. Less busy designs are good when we're getting overdesigned clothes every single day with fictional characters.

At the same time, there's a few minor changes they could have made to give the clothes a little more detail; I'd take the poncho, give it a white to blue gradient and use the fur trim. Maybe get rid of the headband because it makes the horns look like it's part of the headband, and replace it with a simple circlet design.
