No dragon battle for obvious reasons, don't ask for it. If you seriously don't know why, just go read the description in "Jaffar's Journey".
Anyway, Legault is the only assassin not weighted down by the silver blade after applying the body rings. Still, assassin's Str cap is still crap. That solid 3 damage to Darin is laughable. Relying on RNG to do silencers is definitely not a good thing, especially if your luck is really bad.

You can't blame Legault for not damaging the Dragon, because as a general rule, asassins are weaklings, catch his targets unaware, poison them, taking hostages... That's the way he fights.

and disable their opponents weapons(like with the Isadora support), and you can't really do that if you are just a lean little guy fighting a dragon the size of a small house and can torch you with flames that pierce your defense, all the while moving at a reasonably fast pace, will almost always hit you and has scales that will repel any hopes you had of doing much damage

Oh, my guess was going to be Swordmasters, since I could only think of 3 in FE7: Guy, if you train him up and promote him, Karel, and Karla... I think that might be all of them? My reasoning was that while it set the crit to 0, it might not account for the crit boost that Swordmasters get, so a Swordmaster with the Runesword would always have a, what, 15% chance of critting.

Sadly the Runesword doesn't have that much mt, so it would have to be used against a unit with very bad resistance like a unit that's frail against magic attacks. Edit: It all depends on the user attack, AND the opponents resistance. I wouldn't count supports as well, support, so i prefer it between a unit stats instead of supports.

@@auraguard0212 Even without stat boosters, old Runesword mechanics are very arbitrarily deceiving in that it, and other magic attacks from swords for that matter, actually only deal HALF the character's actual Str rounded down + the weapon's Might of 12. Ergo, Jerme only has an overall power that is always about 21. The lowest Res cap is still too high for him for getting in any real damage, and the reason why it's such an ineffective weapon in the GBA titles.

It’s especially sad how Nino and Legault must face these mindless constructs that were once their friends. But the Black Fang before Nergal was more like a family rather than friends. Even after Nergal came along, and thus Nino, the Reed Brothers still treated Nino like part of their family. “Only three people can perform a legit Runesword critical. Wanna guess who they are?” The Pegasus Sisters because triangle attack. Instead of another heartfelt message, he just says ‘This stinks!” to Linus. Linus has a 0% hit chance. The Sage is even more laughable than Jerme and Ursula. Legault must be so angry at Nergal for killing the Black Fang. *Insert Nils joke here* Legault VS Nergal shows just how our of proportion Nergal actually is. For the Black Fang!

kirbydoggears Oh, that regular one.. I kinda put it on hold indefinitely.. 2 reasons: 1) The lack of views for the amount of time put into each recording session. People would normally watch the walkthrough from popular channels, so I'm probably just wasting time because no one would normally watch lengthy videos about the exact same thing twice. Plus right now I'm not in the holiday period anymore, so I don't have the time to play/record/edit the game/video until my exams are over. 2) I already had the on-going 0% growths. Similar to the 1st reason, if you guys already watched the 0% growths, watching the regular one again is probably boring since it's the same thing but just with growths. So I decided to just continue on the 0% growths instead since people are more interested for that walkthrough. Still, thanks for showing your interests on the playlists. :)

Affinity isn't as important as good combat, and legault has way better combat than Matthew, which is why he's generally better unless Matthew gets seriously rng blessed.

Watching this back years later, while I realize that it's not really worth attempting a solo against the Fire Dragon with the Assassins... Is it possible to land a Silencer on the Fire Dragon? I've never seen anyone even attempt it. I wouldn't be crazy enough to do it on a solo run of the Final Chapter, but maybe with the assistance of Thor's Ire and supports. I think it would be really funny if Assassins could in fact cheese that fight.

Runesword can neither crit nor cause silencer in both Melee and Ranged attacks. Though, for some reason: Narshen's Runesword (The one you get in trial maps) has a crit chance. Thought there are no Assassins in Fe6

Kiwi the Pegasus sisters can use a triangle attack to crit with the Runesword, nobody else can crit without using the guaranteed crit from triangle attacks

I know this was from a week or so ago but I'll answer your question about who can crit with the Runesword (and actually the Lightbrand too), its the Pegasus Sisters that can pull it off via Triangle Attack though like someone said, good luck on getting their sword rank to at least A since they all start at E rank once promoted. Honestly considering how much of an irritating grind it is to level up a weapon rank, its not worth it.

True, though if you're like me and heal your units when they even have one less HP from level ups (if they get HP from said level up) then its actually not nearly as bad as a weapon on a character who starts out in an E rank for it cause that means they're stuck with iron weapons (or fire/flux/lightning for magic users) and lets face it, 9 times out of 10 you'll likely be in the second part of the game where most of the enemies are promoted and will have much higher defense/resistance (admittedly not that much higher but still higher than non-promotes) and E rank weapons aren't gonna cut it.

Great run! In all honesty, I’ve never promoted a Thief(Excluding Gaius and Lara). I usually use them to open chests, steal, and, occasionally, dodge tank. I’ve never seen a good reason to promote them. It’s like, “want a unit that can deal 0 damage twice?” or “want 5000 gold?” I feel the answer should be obvious. Thief’s are a useful class, don’t get me wrong but, I’ve never seen a point in promoting them. Well, that’s my opinion anyway. Feel free to disagree with me.

Theif is the worse class to promote, as there is not real reason to promote them unless if the their has other utility. Niles lets you capture units in Fates meanwhile Gaius can be reclassing to a better offensive class like Myrmidon. Lara in FE5 can promote into a dancer, the only obtainable dancer in the game. Rouges in FE8 do not require lockpicks, but unless you really are needing the funds, it's not worth the Master/Ocean seal use on Colm (your only theif in FE8).

Logan Short Simply impossible. 1. Their door opens at the very end. Even if you do open their door at turn 1, there's no way you can manipulate the berserked Reed Brothers to move all the way to attack the enemies instead of your party. 2. Bolting sage will further annoy you. 3. Nergal will never appear until the both of them are defeated. 4. Same goes for dragon.

Before I answer about the pure water, note that I skipped dragon battles because I am not going to rely on RNG for Legault to get the low % criticals to land everytime (even my latest Karla's Journey was a clutch, and she has higher damage/critical than assassins). Skipping the battle will give assassins an advantage for less inventory slot required for elixirs. If I were to add pure water, after defeating Lloyd, I will have to discard more items instead of one because of the Regal Blade, and the extra elixirs. Assassins had the lowest Res cap and couldn't enemy phase ranged enemies, it is not a good idea to waste one inventory slot for 6 Res (after initiating on the last enemy the turn after consumption), when they need weapons to fight the enemies (look at how many weapon uses are left for Legault when he starts fighting Nergal, and he shouldn't even use Regal Blade because he has to save it for the dragon which I skipped), but most importantly, I don't want to create a false illusion that it is easy for assassins to solo the chapter just because of the "extra" item slots.

I never realized how quite awful Assassin was in FE7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it only looks like their Speed and Skill caps are raised, cause everything else is still stuck at 20 except Luck, which always has a higher cap anyways. 30 Speed is overkill anyways, you double everything that needs to be doubled and certain bosses can never be doubled even at 30 (i.e. Uhai). Not to mention that for whatever reason they lose the ability to steal from enemies upon promotion, eliminating half the point of ever deploying a Thief unit in the first place.

It’s better than nothing, you don’t even get the Fell Contract till late game so with the exception of Jaffar the assassin class existed so your thief you trained up through the game was actually usable in the final chapter Also to bring you point up about the caps, that’s how most classes were in FE7, raised caps in the stats the class “excels” in then 20 for the rest
