Best FE theme by far. This truly represents Fire emblem in all it's glory, this game was near perfect with only 1 flaw, too easy. Other than that, the story it tells is one unlike any other (for the first couple chapters) all the units have amazing characters except Makalov. The lord isn't a noble hero but instead is just a 17 year old mercenary who became the most renowned person in all of Tellius. I fucking love this game to death and I wanna be buried holding a copy of this game in my hands.

Best variation on the series main theme by far. I could listen to this version for hours on end. Just like Path of Radiance, it's just epic :D It's always felt like it's some sort of triumphal parade or some other similar sort of musical piece that would be playing during a scene like the end of Episodes I and IV in Star Wars. I can even see the scene playing out in my head now with the victorious Crimean Army marching into Melior after taking back the city and Ike's advance party taking down Ashnard....it just feels like really celebratory music, definitely a very wonderful sounding contrast to other incarnations of Fire Emblem's main theme throughout the series' lifetime.

The fact I've yet to leave a comment on this song is disgraceful. It's Insane just how immensely hard this song goes especially compared to other iterations of the main theme. The PoR OST as a whole is pretty good at keeping it's dial cranked up to a 10 especially with songs like Ike's resolution, greil mercenaries, the recruitment theme, black knights theme, device battle, crimea attacks, and congregation of ambition. But this one is just on an entirely different tier. Absolutely fantastic

What I love about how Path of Radiance uses the Fire Emblem theme is that they waited until the end of the game to play it. With other games, they’re usually played during the title screen, but in Path of Radiance, it’s played near the end of the epilogue before Elincia’s coronation. The Fire Emblem has always been a triumphant tune, but the decision to save it for the end gives such a rewarding feeling to the player after such an eventful journey. In a way, it recontextualizes the song and gives it more emotional weight. Brilliant decision! I recently completed the game for the first time, and it’s now my new favorite FE game. Hopefully, I can find a way to emulate Wii games on my Mac so that I can play Radiant Dawn. EDIT: I eventually played Radiant Dawn in late 2020, and that game is great as well.

stratfx300 It really is, it always kind of felt like triumphal entry music or something like that, like I could see this music playing as the Greil Mercenaries and Crimea's forces march into the city in a victory parade after defeating Ashnard or something like that...this is definitely celebratory feeling of all the variations to the main theme for Fire Emblem.

That might be a bit too powerful. Only Ness and Lucas have ever been able to recover HP, and for them it takes luck and excellent timing.

TheKiss I think the potential OP of Aether healing would be offset by the low contact-time of the move itself. It barely touches its targets, so healing would be negligible. Although I still hope Ike is faster and that Ragnell is ranged like in PoR and RD.

Are we talking about the same Aether? Ike's Up+B is his ONLY move with a very long contact time....if positioned correctly it can trap the enemy for 1-2 seconds.

First Fire Emblem game I owned and cleared was Path of Radiance. After that, it was all GBA games. To this day, I am working through Three Houses, after clearing every other game I can conceivably get to work (4/5 just...dies...). This game set off a love for this series that has continued to this day. And Path will ALWAYS be my favorite Fire Emblem game. To me, the story, cast and difficulty was the best balance.

I think the game should get a remake for either the Switch or the 3DS with added features from the recent games (like "Casual Mode", voice grunts in the supports [like in Awakening], the character portraits just being expressions and not moving their mouths [like in Fates and Awakening], and improved voice acting).

Really? I think the still portraits of the 3DS games were a big step *back*. Making the portraits occasionally blink and seeing their mouths actually move, in combination with scrolling text instead of just dropping full text boxes made them feel more alive. And no grunts please, not at this point, please go the Shadows of Valentia route, full-on voice acting. If it's anywhere as good as in that game, I'd absolutely adore that.

PoR is such an awesome game. I finished it yesterday and it took me a whole month! Fire Emblem games are usually the games the take the longest time to beat and this was only on normal mode. But I like RD a bit better because it's even longer and a bit more epic. I mean, you beat up a god in that game. But I've never heard about a secret ending in RD, how do you get it?
