Gonzales reminds me a lot of Mordecai. Both are very strong, but kind at heart. Both are rejected by "normal" people (Gonzales due to his looks, Mordecai due to his race). And neither of them is very good at speaking.

This went from being a pairing I didn't get at all to my new favourite Gonzales ship. These two are so cute together and Echidna is one of the very few people who is genuinely just nice to Gonzales throughout their whole supports and not just taking advantage of his intellectual disability to insult him without getting push back. The way she didn't just react to face like some characters do but rather just saw the good he could with his muscle whilst paying no mind to his looks, it's just so wholesome, I ship them. Also, the only playable Brigand on the gba, and the only Female Hero on the GBA, there's a very good chance that they're both physically the strongest members of their respective genders in the GBA series, seeing them bond over strength and get together is cute as hell 🤭. I know that nobody canonically gets together in the binding blade but this and DorothyXSaul are the only ships I'll always treat as canon
