Can we talk about how sad Azure Moon's ending is? With just two letters, we see a potential forgiveness, the heartbreaking murder of a step-sister, and the reluctance to continue on the path that has already been walked. I cried.

It is partially sad, but it’s also a good way of Edelgard essentially freeing Dmitri from his burden and sparing him the truth. He blames Edelgard for a large swath of things that weren’t actually her fault, and instead of continuing to let that possibly hang around, she chooses death(alone because as we hear from Hubert her aim is near perfect, so she could’ve killed him had she wanted too)

^She was beat up before the scene. She couldn't even stand. Seeing that the dagger hit his left shoulder, she was aiming at his heart. Edelgard isn't very redeemable in AM and her monster form reinforces that she lost herself. Only in CF do we see a more human Edelgard who doesn't need to use methods like sending monsters into battle or transforming herself. But even then, she executes Dimitri while he's down and cannot fight anymore. There's nothing that truly suggests she's committing suicide when it comes to Dimitri. Only the Professor is allowed to strike her down without resistance.

Vibranium Shield True, but considering that she had to reach behind, pull the dagger out and then toss it, all while Dmitri’s spear is inches away from her chest at most tells me she wouldn’t have tried it had she not been giving him a reason to kill her. Also the argument about her losing herself and becoming a monster is the same thing that happens to Dmitri in the BE route, he’s not even truly human anymore, just a vengeful husk obsessed entirely with killing Edelgard, despite the truth of the church being laid bare in front of him. Edelgard doesn’t do something like that with Byleth because she knows they don’t need that final push to end her life.

I feel like Verdant Wind is the only route that dealt with every single problem. They defeated Edie, destroyed Shambhala, drove Rhea into a corner to disband the church, and defeated Nemesis. Definitely my favorite ending. It also helps that Claude is best boy Dimitri did get a good ending, but his route felt really unfocused, I didn't become Dimitri trash like I thought I would initially

Because in Azure Moon, the game doesn’t outright tell you that TWSITD was defeated: all of the big baddies you killed (Cornelia, Arundel, etc.) were all members of TWSITD in disguise, and without them, Shambhala and Nemesis never came to be. Azure Moon focused more Dimitri’s conflict with Edelgard, so everything else happens in the background

I like to think Edelgard missed her thrown dagger on purpose, that she wasn't trying to kill Dimitri. She couldn't have missed at that range. She knew that if she lived, there would be rebellion in her name, there would be no peace. She accepted defeat, and with that dagger she carved her own destiny. I also like to think that way! Edelgard knew that Dimitri wouldn’t have the heart to kill her (Dimitri holding out his hand to help Edelgard up proves that already), so yea she had to strike at him so that he would kill her. She doesn’t see herself in the future he builds as the church still lives on, and yes there will be a rebellion. So yeah I basically agree with you. She chose death by the Saviour King’s hand!

For me Verdant wind and Crimson flower are toss up I love the golden house and everyone in it, the characters in that house are just so wonderful and well done they warned my heart more that anything Crimson flower is a great route because you got to defy the church and defeat Rhea and take back your heart beat I don't think I could pick one or the other

In silver snow rhea with an A support can survive, and even if she dies Seteth and Flayn are still alive so the Nabateans still exist. In CF you just killed all the children of the goddess so there is two options, either the death of her children means the death of sothis, or maybe sothis find you unworthy of her power after killing rhea

Alex3 I think it’s Sothis herself that removes the crest stone. Like it’s what Byleth and Edelgard were fighting for, a world free from the oppression of crest and nobility. I think it was just a sign to Byleth and the people that the role of gods was over for Fodlan.

I just don't understand the people who criticize Silver Snows ending for "being an asspull". They're all asspulls. Hegemon edelgard, Nemesis being brought back, and the crests disapearing are all asspulls that aren't fully explained. Rhea going crazy sorta makes sense. I'm willing to discuss this more if anyone wants in the comments.

AM and CF bosses don't seem too much like asspulls to me. Both of them have a lot of build up for that final fight against Edelgard/Rhea. But yeah, Nemesis and SS Rhea did feel kinda sudden. Nemesis was very last minute and Rhea never inexplicably went berserk in any other route.

But yeah the whole transformation into a monster thing was out of left-field, but I think it was done because 1) Edelgard was extremely desperate by that point and 2) it would have probably have been too easy of a boss fight unless they gave her multiple bars of health. And I do agree with you about the CF end cutscene. It doesn't make a lot of sense that Sothis' crest stone stopped working after Rhea died, and it proceeds to make even less sense that Byleth would live afterwards since that's the only thing that kept him alive.

I think that the fans positive response to edelgard in the trailers made intelligent systems try to last minute edelgards route into the story as it is very well hidden and most people wont find it. it would also explain that massive delay that we got foe fe3h and why it has the least chapters and the least amount of cgi cutscenes.

I don't really like it cause they felt the need to draw attention to Byleth's crest stone being gone but didn't have the balls to kill him off also from a unbiased stand point: A World for Humanity does the least, Wailing is a beautiful cutscense driving home the tragedy of the final fight and Rhea's whole life Light and Shadow is a bitter sweet send off with beautiful music cues and lighting it handles Edelgards death in a very tasteful and poetic way and it shows that even throughout it all Dimitri almost fell back into the darkness after killing her if not for Byleth A New Dawn is a grand epic fight with solid choreography and a little fitting moment where Byleth comes out and becomes another Blade Breaker A World for Humanity has you wack a dragon which is neat but you know

I see Blue Lions as the canonical choice really due to how much the early game focuses on problems in the Kingdom compared to the empire and alliance. Sure, the Alliance had the best ending (no doubt there), but only Claude really had his defining moments and sometimes Hilda and Lorenz. Edelgard and Hubert were the mains in the Empire. The Kingdom had Dimitri, Dedue, Sylvain, and Felix. You could also count Ashe since Lord Lonato and Western Church plot, and Annette since her father is Gilbert of Faerghus. Just my opinion.

You don't know if Claude survives the Gronder battle, Dimitri kills himself, and Edelgard gets away with a bare victory. All because seteth decided to wait out the battle for another month. That route was honestly just a mesh of golden deer with black eagle students. What a disappointment.

I know people are saying that Verdant Ending is good....in which you see as warping everything up...sure. But overall it not that great, to be honest. In my personal ranking it 1: Azura Moon and Crimson Flower both of them are really good endings as they felt impactful and meaningful. 2: Verdant Wind: It friendship to defeat an evil bad guy...it not like I have seen that a million times. Dead last: Silver Snow: It really forced and honestly would have good if actually had more set up. Like, stop saying that it is good it not....I tried it two times and I never wanted to play it again. It boring, it dull and it has everything bad in it.

Im sorry but I’m taking Azure Moon and Crimson flower over Verdant Wind ending any day. Sure Verdant Wind resolves Those Who slither in the Dark but they were so underdeveloped and literally became a threat at the very end. There was barley any buildup and just feels like they were just slapped on at the end to make Golden Deer feel more relevant. They would have made way more sense for Silver Snow. I honestly feel like the main conflict was always between Edelgard and the Dimitri/Church. Both their endings hit way harder emotionally too.

It’s implied she lives afterwards in SS, but it is explicitly stated if one of two things happen. Either you A or S support her, or Catherine remains unpaired (her solo ending says she returns to Zanado to stay by Rheas side)

Yes, Byleth no longer has Sothis’ heart attached to his at the end of CF. He loses his connection to Sothis and becomes a regular mortal being (there is a contradiction to this though in the fact that you can still choose to marry Sothis by the end of CF, but hey, the developers didn’t have enough time to iron out all the plot holes)

they did a good job to atleast "trying" to make all route is equal,theres no best route because they have their own flaw that based from their personality,background and backstory except church route,for me if crimson flower is fully finished well written route,no route can beat them,meanwhile on the other side church route is really literally just a "bang dragon milf route",we dont have reason to side with rhea except if u want to bang her. basically route in FE3H is like this: 1.CF,edelgard route,ur classic anti hero revolutionary route,an anti hero figure who literally "change the world" with iron fist,which is why this is the best route "if" they are fully finished written,which is unfortunately not. 2.Blue lion dmitri,its a over dramatic which fortunately a well written route focused on the ofc dmitri and how u like him as he is,if u dont like his character as a weak edgy vengeful leader then theres no way this route can shine.but if u like him other route feel inferior than his route. 3.GD claude route,the "unrealistic happy go round friendship win everything" route,it is a good route and really fun to play,but for the setting and the story of the game,this route really out of place and the alliance literally an "outsider",they knew nothing,they almost have no business in a conflict except they are part of the continent. 4.church route,the "bang the milf dragon" route,really no reason to side with rhea,specially she is the antagonist of the story and ur enemy too(she is the one who make u aka byleth to become a vessel to ressurect her mother why would u side with her?),i mean im not hypocrite,im going this route exactly for that dragon booty man. trust me,if CF is well written like blue lion,edelgard route easily will become the most fav that no one care to look at other route at all.

@@fauzanadrian1593 Edelgard is a pawn of the argathans. If you play all the other routes, especially VW and SS, you realize that all her assumptions are wrong. She even believes Nemesis was good. Fodlan was going to change when the three lords ascended to the throne. Dimitri wanted equality and claude to open fodlan to other countries. And both of them agreed that a Crest does not define your worth. Edelgard started the war becauses she wasn't going to live to see the new fodlan so she wanted to speed things up with the war. And about the ending, the argathans have nukes, giant robots, and powerful dark magic. In CF you lose the power of sothis and the hero relics, and rhea is the only reason you survive the final fight against the argathans.

​@@Alex-ke1rk thats the point of the game,what do u think the purpose of ur character as byleth in this game? like i said,they did a good job atleast "trying" to make all route equal,they all have flaw,including edelgard ofc,thats where u as byleth enter and have a "huge" role to each route,in edelgard u are talking about is edelgard where "byleth" doesnt exist in her route,which make a significant difference,edelgard is a great leader with byleth on her side,which completely make her plan to "use" TWSITD succeed instead of getting "used" by them,which is catch them off guard that lead to their downfall. dmitri and claude also have their own flaw which is why without byleth they are also fail,and one of their weakness is to think that "everything is fine" when they doesnt know the real "enemy" is scheming in the shadow,which is why "edelgard war" play a huge and important role as catalyst to open "peoples eye and also stop TWSITD getting full control of fodlan" its effectively stop them before "its too late",claude and dmitri is the example of "good on paper" but in reality is not. yep,but they lack at everything else,specially in numbers,thats why they have to scheme their way from the start,ruining adrestian empire>getting influence and power using corrupt noble>then move to dmitri kingdom ruining it again and control everything from shadow,and edelgard plan is using them to get rid corrup church,then after get all power,shut down their influence at fodlan their destroy them using everything including the "united fodlan" without giving them the chance to scheming in the shadow again.

But she prefers to trust the argathans, the ones that tortured her. I know that she has good intentions, but she takes every wrong choice one after another.

I get that some people don't sympathize with him, especially after his actions, so I get where you are coming from.

The whole point of Dimitri's character isn't supposed to be this great person you rally behind, it's someone who is suffering from the consequences of a life they did not choose and letting their dark side shield them from anymore mental harm. His character is about not letting your failures control you. You're allowed to dislike the character but I hope this makes you appreciate Dimitri a little more :)
