Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes on Nintendo Switch is MUCH BETTER Than Expected?!

One of the best things in Three Hopes is a small thing, but does A LOT- The original Monica is playable. All she did in Houses is dying only to be revelead that what you thought is her was Kronya. Really well done job here.

I was really excited for Monica but after finishing Scarlet Blaze, I find her character lackluster. All she talks about is Edelgard, it's an unhealthy obsession.

I've already beaten the Golden Wildfire route and it was a great game, I'm now going into Azure Gleam in NG+ with everything saved from Claude's route. What I like about the stories is that it helps explain some of the missing plot points that 3 Hoises never explained, like the origins of Those Who Slither in the Dark, more backgrounds to Jeralt, and new characters to play, and a different side of personality to the house leaders.

I played the demo and it's the first warriors game I actually want to play, I really like the mix of strategy, giving orders to other characters while controlling one of them.

I'm at chapter 5 and it Really is amazing how they bring over so many actual FE Three Houses elements into the game. Also the higher quality character models are a nice touch 👌

Not gonna lie, because Shez is an actual character with personality and not a silent protagonist, I like this game better than 3 Houses. Shez is really pretty dope and the supports flesh out the charters even more if you have history with 3 Houses. Currently on my 2nd playthrough using NG+, playing as Blue Lions this time (Black Eagles was my initial run, saving the best House for last). It’s fair to say that this game is just 3 Houses with a different combat system. My favorite game so far this year.

Yeah, I wish Byleth had a personality in 3 houses and spoke when you made dialogue choses. I wish Byleth said "dad, I love you" or "dad, don't leave me!" when Jeralt died. Just the subtle things like this could of helped flesh out a personality.

Finished Scarlet Blaze and almost finished Azure Gleam, both of which I’ve been enjoying. I didn’t play FEW so Idk much about it, but Koei Tecmo had a big hand in Three Houses. I did enjoy my playthroughs of three houses, but imo this game was much more fun to play. I didn’t like how three houses routes were largely perspective based, and several routes shared similar events. In Three Hopes, almost immediately everyone is doing something different and so we get entirely different experiences depending on the game. The tedious mechanics in three houses like the activities and studying are condensed in this game, so you can do everything before you have to do the main chapter battle with a few skirmishes to do before getting there usually. The new class training system also felt way better than weapon studying as now you can immediately go into a master class instead of needing to learn two weapons and more. Each class also having three tiers to get abilities/combat arts/spells from is the way it should have been in three houses, cause not enough abilities were in the game. Tactics to upgrade personal skills and inventory would’ve been cool to explore too. Not every support level has dialogue, with Shez being the only character who has full supports with other characters. Shez also not being silent makes them a lot more interesting and relatable than Byleth imo. Shez is probably my favorite avatar type character cause of how well they were implemented. My only gripes with the game really is none of the fighter classes have access to magic, and War Cleric/Monk would’ve been great to have for the Monk line since Gauntlets are locked to one class which female units can’t even access. Otherwise, it’s a perfect game to me, and I’d love to see if they could use these mechanics for a new fire emblem game.

Agree with your thoughts here, I’m really enjoying Three Hopes. I think it’s a slightly better game than age of calamity even though I’d normal prefer Zelda theme.

I'm about the finish Golden WIldfire, which is my last route. This is the first Warriors game that I've actually finished. And I've finished it twice with the third completion coming probably today. Won't spoil anything, but so far Azure Gleam is my favorite route by far. I can't see Golden Wildfire surpassing it. Which surprises me because The Golden Deer were my clear favorites in Three Houses.

I’m glad to see people liking this game a lot because I LOVED the first fire emblem warriors even with all the flaws. This game to me is literal perfection because it’s just the kinda game I like in terms of gameplay with just that little spice of strategy

The game is def more fun and smoother than FEW and FE3Houses. They do speed up the process and playing is a greater joy. IDK if I can finish 3Houses after playing this.

I wouldn't mind Byleth personality (or lack of) if they talked in 3 houses. Shez was a really entertaining mc, only finished GW taking a break, they even bummed heads with Claude at one point which never really happened with any of the lords in the base game. The supports with shez are also pretty good, lysithea A support with shez was funny exposing shez as not being good at giving advice even though people come to them anyway so they just memorized lines from stories to use resulting in a situation I would expect Sylvain to be in.

I just beat this lastnight and I have to say it was one of the best experience for a spinoff I've had. I actually couldn't put it down and I binged it over the weekend. It was so good, it made me start Three Houses over again lol. It was a game I decided to play to take a break in between Xenoblades before 3 comes out :P

I'm loving it. It's way better than Age of Calmity. 3 Hopes has a level up & class system that's similar to Three Houses so it feels like I'm playing a real FE game, but with musou style combat. It could've been GOTY for me had it been a real FE TACTICS game. I played through Claude & Dimitri's game so far.

This is a different kind of warriors game... this year, I've got samurai warriors 5 and dynasty warriors 9 empire... those are more or less the typical formula, where you jump to a 'lets smash hundreds of foes' kind of thing... I thought they reinvented the wheel with 'age of calamity'... but this one... this is not just a warriors game... this is an incredible surprising real time strategy game, with the best of a tactical rpg like fire emblem, and the intensity of a warriors game... I guess after you played the whole three houses stories, it will stop being a fire emblem game, and it will start being 'let's smash hundreds of foes'... but until then, you have to be extra careful with your camp strategy, pre battle set up... as fire emblem is... ladies and gentleman, this ain't a warriors game: this is a fire emblem game, with real time strategy. And this time, the AI of your allies is great! (you can actually trust your team, as you select the good characters you want to rank up, the weapons... teaming them up...) Summarising, indeed, this is a total sleeper, as I thin it is not just tailored for 'fans that like fire emblem and warriors' games... this is for those that liked the idea of playing a fire emblem, but don't like the tactical approach FE... now you have fire emblem with turns-style, and also real time... PS: After this title, it is for sure that some sort of Xenoblade warriors will come, for sure... dunno when, or if during this generation (maybe the next switch?) but... we will have it, I am sure!

I actually agree. Three Hopes does play in general like warriors game, but it has so many RPG elements that I would call it an Action RPG with strategy. It feels more like a proper Fire Emblem game in real time.

My dream with this game has come true with Three House characters with out turn base of Three Houses game and the main reason I hate Three Houses Lysithea did not get a chance to grow and her magic skill never was able to develop and grow and the turn base combat Lysithea is beautiful and I love her and her new look and her magic skill is able to grow in Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes. I do not need the hype of Three Houses or care.
