September 30, 2020 No one is unreachable and unredeemable from God’s grace. It’s already been a year since the public renunciation of faith by two prominent Christian figures, Joshua Harris of the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye and Marty Sampson, Hillsong Australia’s worship leader. There have been many reactions in social media and some of them were encouragements, some were basic pronouncements of apostasy. Yes, it may be true, they may have apostatized, but I believe that they’re still not out of reach from the love of God. How do I know? Because in the Bible, even Israel has apostatized countless times, and yet God pursued them again and brought them back. And even God commanded Hosea to marry a promiscuous woman, and commanded him to love her the way God loves Israel. God always knew what he was getting in to when he decided to love us. It was his love his eternal love, that he was banking on that we would love him back not out of compulsion, not like robots because robots can’t truly love willingly. God’s reckless love pursues us, woohs us, ever so constantly because that’s who he is. He is just simply crazy about us. Going back to Joshua Harris and Marty Sampson, all I can say, is keep praying for them. Never lose hope. God knows their hearts. But most importantly, God never gives up on anyone.
