First time watching. Not familiar with sheep, watched fascinated at the intelligence of pops in anticipating what the sheep would do at road openings, and also how pops loading them into the trailer in the field pen. I'd bring some loose hay to get a grip rather than spinning down the tyres. When moving cattle on the road - we plan ahead by closing any gates on the route and have tapes placed at junctions and open areas, using wide electricians tape, with one person ahead of the cattle. Only every had one home owner annoyed. Her dustbins were awaiting collection. The tape was tied across her two bins. At the time didnt realise she was going to drive out. She drove through the tape. As the tape was wide her car dragged the two bins behind her - I laughed she wasn't amused.

Thanks for the figure of eight tip. I could only work my dogs on my own without my other half giving them grammar and swearing lessons. Respect to Robbie and his former job. I don’t think some people appreciate how hard and dangerous their work can be after some of the storms we now get. Sheep drive well but children are like herding cats.

You need to bring those chaps with you more often and then they would know how to work to the whistle! Little bitch is a topper, I am always nervous working dogs on the road because around here we have to deal with motorists who have no idea how to behave with stock on the road and they have absolutely no patience ( to close to Dublin) . A ram a week and a few spare, be careful not to flood the market next back end, as they say around here if you have one too few you will get a great price and one too many you’ll get sod all.

You're dead right, plenty of sheepdogs hurt on the road. Always a bit worried... I'll thin them out soon. Worth good money in the factory now but got on well selling rams to commercial men wanting to breed their own replacements last year..👌
