I wish there were more scenes like the one where shinra drops out of the sky with fire wings with his demon eyes and that awesome toothy grin, I just wish they incorporated that a little more into his personality, seems they sorta introduced it and used it for a little while but it’s becoming less and less often, it’s a good touch to his character

It's a transition sort of thing. Shinra was regarded as a Devil during his childhood bc of that smile and he hated that. And he strives to be a hero. So over time his appearance when he fights and the forms of his flames shift from demonic to heroic.
