Also, on onw site, i witnessed that breeching inlet is placed before the UGWT, so that in case of breeching inlet activation, the water from breeching inlet be first going to ugwt and fom their to pumps...is it an ok practice?

Breeching inlet should be connected with discharged side of fire pump as per NFPA 20 requirements.

Assalm O Allikum Tanveer Bhai...will the valve for fire hydrants be in Normally open or NC mode....some one was mentioning that the valve will be open and in case of fire the fire pumps will start working...however, i think that valves should be in NC position and the line should be pressurized...in case of fire the valve be opened which will result in pressure reduction and will eventually lead to FF pump running to ensure pressure is maintained in the line...plz advice

If you are talking about fire hydrant which are installed normally outside of buildings or road walkway. There are two valves, one valve is in pit on branch that should be opened and another valve is built-in in hydrant that should be closed.
