About 2 mins in I was like "this has to be a controlled burn".
@electricboyo10 ай бұрын
To me it appears the electric service is totally disconnected: No overhead wires are seen going to utility pole. And with several boarded up windows too, I think this is likely to be an abandoned residence. Therefore FD is mainly keeping the flames dark enough to protect the exposures on either side. But not making an aggressive attack on the fire building itself.
@marianneturner726710 ай бұрын
That would be my guess as well, in fact there may have been a previous fire in that house. I've seen a lot of these lately, the homeless break into them, light a small fire to keep warm, and ultimately setting the whole house on fire.

Could have been a controlled burn/training burn. House was boarded up. Some winks and the front door.

Looked like a control burn and or training, boarded up and had a sign on the post as well. Just trying to keep the trees and neighbors house from being affected.

This is in America and we have procedures in place to keep our firefighters as safe as possible during the process. Not sure what you're rambling about but regardless of the occupancy of a structure, the fire must be extinguished to prevent it from spreading.

@@CorradoMartoneif you've seen other videos of American firefighters then it's not hard to understand that this is not the normal approach ! This is a vacant house with no power ! It's most likely a controlled burn !

@@averteddisasterbarely2339 Grazie per aver risposto. Ho visto molti video sui pompieri americani. Dovete svolgere 50 metri di manichetta, attaccarla all' idrante e poi forse cominciare a spegnere. Saluti.

no effort to get any substantial water on this fire. A lot of walkin around perhaps they were having water issues or the lack thereof

It apparently was a controlled burn . The fire department here does them twice a year to rid of abandoned houses that have become a nuisance .

No because I’m Toledo we don’t like attacking from inside when the fire is on the roof so we decided to attack from outside which take longer

Oh NO! The USA fire Disservice can't help being inept. When you drive up and lay in, you can see the fire is exiting the rear of the structure. What do they do? Focus on going inside which takes time, is dangerous and greatly limits their access to the burning material because of the HEAT AND SMOKE they have to fight through. All they had to do is pull a 2-1/2" line to the rear and soak all those rooms. In one to two minutes, they could have knocked this down LONG before they could have gotten the front door open. THEN, they pull out their favorite TOY, the ladder if you didn't know what I was talking about and proceeded to wet down the shingles. Wonderful. Any real firefighting was edited out. Too embarrassing to leave in? If this was a controlled burn, they didn't bother to practice firefighting!

@JB917109 ай бұрын
@@williamedwards1528 That's not a call a firefighter can make. Their job is to stop the threat. Even if a structure will end up a total loss, it's a great opportunity to practice on a live fire. But the lazy USA fire service almost NEVER takes advantage of that. They just like to watch the flames
