Hi man, another super video here and I am super happy! I have threquestions: can you link Paketa12's video about the life component technique? I need to know more. is there any way to stretch the UV grid (like 16:9) or something like that? is there any way to using an input video (like webcam) to create more interactivity? MiniUV shared its great 2D particle technique in a video and showed how to make an image react to this system, but I don't really understand this complex stuff :(

Yeah, just to be clear, I wasn’t clear in the original video, I’m not stealing a life component from him I feel like mine is different enough and he isn’t making a life component in the video. Otherwise I wouldn’t put it on my Patreon. I’m stealing his very clever technique of using a matte, a feedback, and a “ticker.” Here it is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHq3lq2IedqUiZIsi=xmp6rCjrIWxutEW0 To your second question: yes it is. And the answer is math. I don’t have a specific tutorial in mind, but I think paketa12 has some great examples of how to do it. I haven’t really figured it out in this specific system since the remap top doesn’t handle values outside of 0-1 very well.

I wasn't insinuating you were stealing Paketa12's idea or methodology :) i like your videos a lot because of the simplicity that are made: I find very smart your use of some techniques, accessible to all the people like me who don't have big skills on Touchdesigner. that's why I was asking if there was a video on how to build a life component! anyway thanks, i will see the video you shared and I will research if is possible stretching the UV

@DrNapalm yeah, I understood that, I just wanted to be clear. And I’m always happy to share Paketas channel since he is so clever with the program. MiniUV also shares some insane stuff on IG, but I haven’t dug into their tutorials. I was actually trying to stretch the uv before posting the tutorial, but couldn’t really make it work in a clean way. Please let me know if you figure it out :)

yes it does, there's unfortunately no way to export a touchdesigner file as a standalone.

@shayanamplified I mean, you can use touchengine in unreal, and there’s compatability with bigwig and ableton etc. But they make their money selling licenses, so I doubt it will change.

help! the moment I drag the "col" null to the Color OP in Geometry, everything stops working and the render TOP says "A mat is using texture coordinates, but the SOP being used with it does not have UV attributes" :/ what could it be? Thanks for this great tut!

How do I connect the life component? I've tried making the life component in this actual project and also by itself (saved to tox) (importing via import component from tox, nothing happens) and importing it but I can't seem to connect it to the keyboard in...hope this makes any sense... sorry I'm an idiot. Great work by the way

you need to assign the keyboard-in chop to the reset button of the component. Aslo make sure you are connecting the select to the input of the comp. assigning the "start" null to the select and then multiplying the select with the output of the comp. does that help?

I don’t have a Kinect, but I imagine you can get chop values related to position. Any value between 0 and 1 in the x and y can be used and if they are larger or smaller than that you might need to attenuate them. And just substitute the values from the mouse-chop for the Kinect chop. You will also need some sort of “trigger” to substitute the mouse clicks.

Im gonna be honest with you, google translate is not good enough for me to understand your question. But either you can use a movie-file out TOP. Or you could screen-record it if you want to have the mouse in the frame. Hope that answers your question.

@ZuoYu use a movie-file out TOP, and plug it in after the last null. And then it will record everything you do :)
