Too many variables in this test. Two different torch types and the distance from torch to surface is different as well. This test needs to have one torch pointed at the surface where the treated and untreated surfaces meet. This eliminates many of the variables. Torch type, torch temp, gas bottle contents as well as bottle gas pressure, distance from torch to surface, etc.... I'm not hating - I'm honestly both impressed by AND interested in this product. I'm just OCD when it comes to product demonstration and comparisons. I would also have a camera shot of the back of the surface and maybe even a temperature sensor to show the surface temp of the reverse side. Just sayin.

Not just the contents, but he flips the picks up the painted side burner half way through the video, while he leaves the other burner angled upward. The different angles makes it so the untreated side looks worse. I'll be avoiding this product if they have to fake flames for their marketing.

@@derekalbright3128 And the treated-side flame starts moving around. I like the idea of the product but if it were me I wouldn't have posted this. not a fair test.

Hey Tee Jay, I watched this the other day. These other guys hired scientists and put in proper instruments. I liked this video because they bunt two entire houses down. Worth checking out. Pretty awesome to watch a three story building flashover. wwww.barriertek.com/sciencevsfire

It may not be exact, but there is still a flame on it that goes out as soon as it is taken away. I consider that quite impressive. Attics have bare wood, when flames get in an attic the house is doomed. This needs to be on all attic surfaces

For me, this is the best kind of paint that must put on cars, and kitchen, home, condominiums and mostly on some industrial/factory companies. Thanks for making this kind of helpful stuff. 🥺☺️😍

Product looks impressive, don’t short change yourself by using unscientific testing methods in this demonstration. Make identical setups and using both fire retardant and non fire retardant paints. You don’t even need to talk, just time lapse the results and do a double blind crossover style test.
@CristianoBonavolonta9 ай бұрын
The product looks great but I would use the same blow torch type for the demonstration. Above all a setup with blow torch's flame at a consistent and equal level from same distance would be better to see how well the paint works.

Very interesting video the only thing I found off is both propane tanks aren't the same and don't know if the both temperature is coming off of them are the same.

You have 2 different torches with different tips. One has a pencil tip in the other has a X foliated tip.
@Ham5493 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm going to be that guy... Not that I doubt your products but maybe you should use the exact same blow torch with the exact same fuel for your demonstration.
@dattdrift3 ай бұрын
You took the torch away 5 seconds before the other one, it took 7 seconds for the flame to go out on your product. The other was almost out in the same time.. either way it's still got its merits

stop using chop strand material for floor joist , structural Pine has a char rate that exceeds any chop-strand material and it does not contain glues or binder resin that add to the overall heat output. You will also have a slightly increased smoke/gas output from engineered timber when compared to structural timber framing Also in your home, if you have a fire the timber framing and or wall/ ceiling linings are not the problem, it is all the combustible petrochemical,plastics, foams, fabrics etc that you have in your home that dramatically increase fuel load.

Other than all the other issues people commented, the angle of the torches are completely different. 😂
@garywaters16722 жыл бұрын
You had the flame closer to the untreated side ?
@Alex-xh9kv10 ай бұрын
It looks like a fantastic product but this was a highly flawed demonstration. That makes the demonstration look suspect. Like most others here, I suggest using identical blow torches, gas bottles, & make a jig to ensure the torches are equidistant from the work piece. Also, consider removing the work piece from the fire instead of removing one torch at a time.

Does this meet the requirements for TGI floor joists in the 2018 I-codes? Can it be applied to joists before installation? Cost/linear foot applied to 12" TGI?

how about using the same gas on each side and see what happens not map gas and other side has propane can clearly see two different cylinders

the untreated side is reealisng syngas from the wood which is igniting thats why the flame looks bigger

Ha Ha, Yeah and its the same shitty particle board material they are showing to be flammable in the very test, and they haven't even used their own retardant paint on it. And there is an electric cable right behind it. Least fire cautious fire safety video ever. At least the paint seems to work.

Also gives you more time to get the hell out of Dodge. I had a friend who woke up to a house on fire. Her friend died her brother almost died and she almost died. One has brain damage. The other has a scar from punching a window out to breathe. I saw a picture they were both covered in suit. They looked black when up in fifteen minutes

NOT TESTED EQUALLY. video Shouldn't exist. flame (distances & angles) Direct contact with long flame (more flame contact exposure = faster deterioration) on "non-treated" real life situation Controlled flames (further distance @ right angle, minimal, UNREALISTIC torch test) on treated side.
