Is the Heavy Rescue truck just for towing vehicle or does it have firefighting gear on it?
@CobraEmergencyNorthAmerica6 жыл бұрын
It has Urban Search And Rescue gear on it - basic moving, cutting and connecting gear. Primary use is to move large objects. Often responds as a standby in-case needed, but often not.

THINK OF THEM AS GIANT TOOL BOXES, MANY FUNCTIONS OTHER THAN JUST TOWING!
@jonathanbrady52436 жыл бұрын
I go around visiting fire stations around the world. I went to a LA Station and I learned that their heavy rescue/USAR unit was like a regular rescue unit on steroids. They can stabilize a house, they can cut cars, they can get a trapped fire-fighter out by breaking their way in. They do not have firefighting equipment on heavy rescue/USAR rigs.
@RandyCarpadus5 жыл бұрын
It's almost never used for Towing.

In my home town I recently watched a gang of school girls tow fire trucks around with a rope. Sirens on with their leader,a lady screaming at them. True story.

It's there. Some times the LED looks like it is flickering because of the frame rate of the camera. It's a lot less pronounced than tbe old strobe bars, but it's still there.

You can see on the inner part pf the lightbar above the driver. There is one LED pod blinking really slow. That's the CA steady red.

Am I the only one that feels if firefighters are blocking an intersection they should have the right to forcibly push their way through the intersection to continue on to their intended destination
