In this video, you'll get to witness fights vs the current highest rated Windwalker Monk in the world. Watch the face off between both the Rank 1 Fire Mage and Windwalker Monk. Well actually duels are not balanced like that. Some classes just can't beat others. For example, an equally skilled mage vs hunter, hunter will always win. An equally skilled mage vs shadow priest, mage will win. Luckily, monk vs mage duels are decently equal and comes down to mind games.

Yeah, I'll do a commentary version as well. I can do both, don't worry lol. I like making montage style duel videos like this for entertainment purposes (for those who don't play mage can enjoy them too), and the commentaries ones are more of the guide style where other Fire Mages can learn from it. Killin two birds with one stone, know what I mean? What do you mean by "a bit overdone" though?

He hansol why did you block at 2:28? Because you had blink up and the silence was just on 1sec and you also still had you Ice barrier up. And ice barrier was coming off cd. Was it just for the nova with the Ice block glyph? The monk btw had some awsome incaps holy moly! nice video man love it!

I blocked and immuned the damage that was coming from Fists of Fury. If i sat it, I would have still taken damage, and maybe couldn't blink in time. I didn't want to take the risk because otherwise I would have died right there. Plus blocking and coming out with glyph allows you to counter pressure with an extra nova which is the only reason I won.

Mage set ups are the best. The Mage could be at 20% and the other person at 100% and all it takes is one well-times Frost Jaw or Deep Freeze before they pop all their cooldowns and literally NUKE the other player. It's so satisfying to watch.

+iQwimby yeah thats one of the hardest things to get over, making yourself polymorph someone at 20 percent and watch them get healed to full because you need cds or health

You do know your starting shield isnt being effected by BF or better yet anytime you drop combat and put up a new shield its a full 140k+. So the duels mean nothing as its completely nullified by you having a HUGE advantage.

Am i like the only one that feels like monk always seem to be in control of nearly all duels since they can like have so many movement increases? my 90s gets kitted/slowed and they run around me so that i cant keep up. :o

Hansol when you breathe and start to cast a poly while you are beside your enemy, why dont u nova at the last second of the poly to freeze them as the poly gets done casting so they are pollyed and they are novaed without wasting frost jaw? :) You should try it so as you are casting poly as it is finishing cast a nova :D

Blizzard's rebalancing of monks to bring their numbers (number of people playing monk) up was a bit over the top, as is usual. Making something viable is ok, but making something look overpowered is better and gets more people on board. A pity it wasn't on the timeless isle, could have chucked a few black ash and cut the duel time by 60%.

I skipped to the second duel instantly because the monk doesn't really have a good way to LoS you on that playground. Imo monks should beat any class on Blade's edge and almost every class on any other arena map with good LoS.. Ruin's isn't great though

Monks healing is insane. i had a chance to 1v1 monks in arena and i could barely beat them because of healing.. insane duels.

Yeah, they heal quite a bit and also have a lot of defensives cooldowns you have to go through to eventually score the kill. The hard part is putting pressure to force those cooldowns while trying to survive at the same time.
