Fire.. Workshop burned to ground

Last Saturday my workshop burned down..
I don't know the cause.. I will post any progress
No more woodturning videos for the foreseeable future I'm afraid..

Andy as with all your followers,as wood turners I think we will all understand how you must be feeling. A lot of what you have lost due to the fire is things that you have acquired over the years that includes things that you have made. Hope that you manage to get back to building your workshop backup and start making your KZbin videos . These have given me and a good many other people who follow you the inspiration and be able to turn a range of different things we may have struggled cope to make. All the best for the future.

Andy what a devastation, so sorry for your loss. Workshops don’t spring up over night and are made over years of sacrifice as machines and tools are expensive, Trusting you will be able to recover as soon as possible, so glad that no one was hurt in this tragedy . Andy I’m gutted pal I have just arrived in Cornwall and thought I would like to give you a visit if it was at all possible imagine how I felt seeing your video update I am stuck for words it just goes to show we makers have to make sure we are safe and sound in our workshops. Hi Andy. What a shock. Im so sorry that I have not responded sooner. What a tragedy, such a devastating and destructive thing to happen. So glad that you and the family are are safe and that no one suffered injury. I can see that your workshop and garage are a total lost with all tools and equipment. I sincerely hope that you can progressively recover in time and get back up and running again. We need our hobbies and shared experiences with other people of our grafting community. We find it most therapeutic, good for body ,mind and wellbeing. You have to be absolutely devastated and heart broken!!! I went through a fire (not my shop) and it was quite awhile before I felt “normal” again. (But I must say, that is a pretty drastic way to clean out the sawdust!). Hope the replacement shop still lets you hear the rain on at least part of the roof. Can I send a care package when you are ready?

Yes , it was certainly a great shock and such a mess... One heck of a Spring clean.!!! The new roof will be made from tin sheets so you should still be able to hear the rain pitter pattering...
