I know very little about these. I wish I'd learned more, esp since I once manned a major casino/hotels FCC room and that main panel was installed while I was working there (around 2011). It's awesome to see such young guys so interested in and incredibly knowledgeable about alarms and what makes them work well etc. Keep up the good work!!!!

The genesis chime sounds like a commander 3 chime

The T bar is not the first generation. The first generation had a metal handle and no arrow below the words pull down. We have a first gen one in my high school because it is an older building that has been added onto many times. The one you have is actually the second generation produced until the mid 80's. The third generation had the hollow handle and was produced until 1991 with the introduction of the 2099 conventional and MAPNET II stations which met ADA requirements. Although the 4251-20 met ADA, it is possible Simplex wanted a new design. The introduction of the 4010 (the 4100 series and the now defunct 4020 were MAPNET addressable) led to the introduction of the 4099 series to operate on the 4010 and 4100U or 4100ES panels with their new addressable protocol. That protocol is called IDnet. Sorry for the long comment; just wanted to add some fun facts in! :)

Yeah, the chime on the EST Genesis does sound very similar to the chime on the Gentex Commander 3. Not sure why. :/

I like the updates to the system! I'm probably going to redo my System layout soon so I can select between code 3 with the sync module and continuous and possibly sync strobes with it too; I just have to get another ADA strobe for it to work.
