I was in a diamond store (they sold moissanites as well) the saleslady kept arguing on how lab made is just as detrimental to the environment as mined diamonds) poor thing was either delusional or brainwashed

I own both diamond and moissanite jewerly. All of my pieces diamond and moissanite are in some type of pave setting so I can't speak on how they compare as solitares. But what I've noticed is my moissanite pieces seem to have more fire and internal smaller scattered white sparkles that make it appear more ..fuzzy? While my diamonds have more crisp large white flashes that go off in a cluster like effect which i freaking love lol. I think this phenomenon is called scintillation if I'm not mistaken. My moissanite will reflect super intense white light but it has to be viewed at more specific angles. I do prefer moissanite over cz tho because while the scintillation effect of cz may be a bit more diamond like , it's much more flat and dull. And it's the large amount of external fire that it gives off that really gives it away. Moissanites fire seems to be more internal while reflecting pure white light externally. This may not apply to solitares , but it does apply to all my pieces that are in a pave style setting. I think most people think brilliance is scintillation as I used to. I wonder if moissanite can be cut in such a way that would prioritize white light perfomance over fire to give it more diamond like scintillation? Or does double refractive properties of moissanite prevent this? I know some people are all about fire but I'm more about white light refraction and I just love how my diamonds twinkle with those large broad flashes of white light. It's like a bunch of paparazzi taking pictures lol. But anyway those are my observations when comparing the 2. Not huge differences between them but differences nonetheless. And Def. Not enough to justify the ridiculously high price of diamonds that's for sure. Anyways sorry for such a long ass comment lol just wanted to throw this out there.

I have had Diamonds. I just received my very first three Moissanite Rings yesterday. Moissanite IS better than Diamonds. I will be buying Moissanite from here on out - I'm just glad that there is now an affordable, ethical alternative to Diamond and a durable alternative to Cubic Zirconia. With Moissanite I can have that Eternity Band I've always wanted ❤❤

Can you do a radiant moissanite comparison in different cuts and companies? I am especially curious about the differences between a crushed ice and a forever one in radiant cut.

I had no idea that’s how they mine diamonds. I have loved moissanite for 10 years now and would rather have that. But now for sure. Will be getting all lab created stones. I’d rather have lab created than something that is destroying the land and ocean

Thank you, very informative as the end user it helps us chart the new territory lab grown diamonds & moissanites. It is great that diamonds and moissanites as well as the new cuts from ever more sophisticated tools make fabulous stones accessible due to prIce and no loss in beauty. These can be worn as pieces alone and gives the buyer an affordable frame for coloured gem stones. LF

Moissanite is not as readily available to see in person. It's important for people to know that moissanite is cloudy/hazy in appearance and has a strong rainbow effect that does not look anything like diamonds.... I expected moissanites to have transparency that diamonds have and they just do not.

@@countdracula5433 I'm sorry, but it is. Cubic zirconia when good quality is less cloudy than moissanite

@@jenvogue5005 well I can only speak to my experience. I have moissanite, and have never come across one that was cloudy..ever.
@jenvogue5005
@jenvogue5005 Жыл бұрын
@@countdracula5433 the cloudiness comes from the double refraction in moissanite, so it's fuzzier when reflecting light. Both diamond and cubic zirconia are single refractive ... this is more noticeable in more simple cuts like an emerald cut.

@@jenvogue5005 then you need to google your claim. Moissanite is not cloudy. Its fact.

Why is sooo cheap if is more better than diamond why they don’t sale it as better than diamond. Why? Is loke you are selling a Van Gogh for the price of a Coca Cola is strange. The pros are incredible but why is so cheap?

I have a 33ct blue moissanite and a 29ct white moissanite for sale if you want something "too big". They are WAYYYY cheaper then any moissanite dealers or jewelry stores too. Charles and colvard has a 12ct moissanite for sale for 11,919$ on their website but I'd sell my white 29ct round moissanite or the 33ct blue one for less then they charge for their cheapest 2.20ct loose moissanite (1099$ for the GHI Color) or 1609$ for the 2.2ct DEF Color) which to me is absolute insanity to charge THAT much for a moissanite and I can not believe people are actually paying that much for them.. I'd sell my biggest ones (29ct & 33ct) for around 500$ to 750$ depending on where I sell them through (to give the buyer peace of mind by having buyers protection and all that jazz) and I can send videos of me testing them to verify them for the buyer or whatever else they want to show they are authentic
