Merry Christmas. Good job containing the residential property fire to one building and protection of adjoining structures. Also great salvage of the roller. 🎄🌏

From a long time volunteer firefighter. Being I'm in the U.S., I don't understand the hydrants being covered below ground. Is this common? I did see another video of this same fire. Great coordinated effort. And that is an absolutely beautiful Rolls. Merry Christmas from the U.S.

@@jimbrewer2893 Yes it is common in Australia & New Zealand. Most hydrants are located on the corner of intersections and at intervals along cross streets. Standpipes are carried on the trucks. These are screwed down onto the outlet 4 or 5 turns and then the water valve is opened using a T shaped key. Standpipes usually have 2 outlets. There's probably less chance of a hydrant being tampered with, being underground, not sure if that's the real reason though. Hope you have a Merry Christmas 🎅 too from Australia 🇦🇺

We taught to lessen the impact for the home owner and for fire investigors, its not easy and its difficult as a fire-fighter knowing that sadly your unintentionally destroying memories and treasured items in the pursuit to extinguish a fire....this hit me hard at my 1st house fire so in my life and I tell others to keep copies of treasurer photos, or documents on a portable hard drive & jewellery, passports etc in a fire proof bag, convenient to grab if and when you need to evacuate mine is next to my bed

Yep...that's a "pretty significant" fire. Can't agree with that.
