I love trout fishing... Wait a minute... I love trout catching!
I learned how to fish for trout as a Boy Scout but haven't learned much since. On this trip I wanted to work on improving my trout fishing game so I can do less fishing and more catching. I asked my buddy Mike, also known as "The Quiet Flyfisher," if he would be willing to point me in the right direction. He was nice enough to spend the day showing me how it's done. He really showed me what's possible by catching a trophy brook trout! What a thrill!
I learned a lot about fly-fishing, but realized there's no substitute for experience. So, I'll be needing to get out there and do some more practicing.
I also did some fun cooking on my "Firebox Freestyle Stove" in the "Octagon Fire Pit" configuration. Since I knew I would only be using it in the one configuration I brought only the parts I needed--which brought the weight of my stove system (as shown in this video) to only 25oz. Pretty good considering it's a 10 inch portable campfire. I was very happy to have the extra size as it allowed me to burn some very chunky fuel, which burned down to nice hot coals. The combination of the size--which allowed me to cook more than on thing at a time and those beautiful hot coals made for a very versatile cooking fire that was a joy to use! The results were excellent!
I designed the Firebox Freestyle Stove as well as other practical high quality outdoor products you've seen me use in my videos. Please take a minute to check them out by visiting my website: www.fireboxsto...
Mike "The Quiet Flyfisher" is a real pro and a heck of a nice guy! Please take a minute to check out his website here: quietflyfisher...
Thanks so much, Steve

Amazing video! What packs do you use for your dogs? I have some but they are not load bearing enough for my big dogs
