I love the idea of someone finally bringing to the forefront the obscure and one-off starships only seen or mentioned once or twice in Trek. Well done on this Freedom Class Starship! I hope to see a Springfield or New Orleans Class sometime in the future.

I love how you took a background, damaged kitbash design and refined it. I like to think this is how the Freedom class would have looked had it been designed as a hero ship or a guest ship meant to be seen rather than as a background wreck. Well done.

That in between period of Ambassador and Galaxy class ships is an underrated and underutilized time period in the franchise. My personal favorite from there is the Cheyenne class.

Now that's a nice fix of the silly old freedom class. The big gun-thing is nice to see on the side of the neck aswell as it was a "distinctive feature" of the original kitbash, what do you think it's supposed to be?

I think it's routinely referred to as a "phaser lance" and was meant to be a mining tool

@@chrislea1000 Both of those things surprise me as "phaser lance" suggests a superheavy weapon like present on the Galaxy X Dreadnought so if it really is one, funny a goofy single nacelle ship had one first. Also would be poorly served as a mining device as no single nacelle ship is gonna have substantial cargo space inside of it, if you think about it.

Gene Roddenberry stated that all warp ships should have engines in multiples of two.

That's already retconed. He also said no warships and that both naceles must have unobstructed view to each other but Defiant breaks both rules and no one dares to say anything agains that class. Star Trek got more popular when Roddenberry started losing influence in Star Trek making so get over it.

I realize modern Star Trek is really a cargo cult but, for those who still care: ST-TOS lore has the warp field propagating between two field generating nacelles. Warp fields require two, and only two nacelles, and the area between the nacelles is a no man’s land of warped and distorted space.
