Hey hey! You did a video of the knife for my boss! I'm glad to be able to see it made and even more glad i could introduce him to your work. I guarantee this knife will be covered in moose blood this September. Side note, i just forge welded an 80crv2 bit into a 6lb 4142 speed felling/ splitting axe. My biggest axe so far. Keep up the good work!

Yes sir, thanks for the referral! That's a big axe, neat project!

I am a very big fan of you video 'explanation' style. Even though I do not forge, I enjoy watching. Understanding each process is really the key to my enjoyment. You give me just the right amount of explanation and reasons for your processes. Thanks.

I like seeing the tang go into the brass guard. It really makes it look like an even tighter fit.

If you make a quarter in. scraper that is square it's easier to scrape the solder even if you use a utility blade
@lairdcummings90928 ай бұрын
*VERY* nice. A functional blade profile, not flashy, just workman-like and useful. This is the kind of blade I would buy and use; sure, there are plenty of lovely blades out there, but this one speaks to *me.*

Nice work. The soldering is similar to what Bob Loveless did.

Thanks! Yes sir, also similar to Randall knives. Soldering the guard seems to have fallen out of vogue in recent decades, but it's a solid and practical solution.

It's so interesting watching hunks of raw meterial get worked into a tool. Your explanations along the way are also appreciated. I always like listening to craftsman talk about their choices and decisions.

What metal is the blade made of?
@FireCreekForge6 ай бұрын
This is 52100 high carbon steel
@CC-lv1ox6 ай бұрын
@@FireCreekForge Is that the steel that you use the majority of the time? I assume it is the most durable and also allows for the sharpest edge or less need to sharpen in the field? I am new to knives and trying to educate myself so I can buy a special knife for hubs. I value your skill and vids to teach the consumer. I also want to support a family business in the USA. Thank you.
