I've got a Jimny. When you are doing 60 miles per hour, it feels like you are doing 360 miles per hour. But a really good machine when you get Jimny offroad. Its a proper 4x4 not a speed machine.

the reason the Suzuki Jimny doesnt score so well on the crash tests is because all it really is, is an update of the previous model. but this year they ceased production of the Jimny, so there should be a complete new model coming in the near future.

It's pointless to crash-test this car at 70 km/h. I've got a Jimny and the whole car starts rattling, shaking violently and falling apart when you go over 50 km/h, so you just drive slower than that anyway. Brakes feel like they are made of butter, there's almost no real stopping power (except for the handbrake, that's excellent) and you almost rip off the steering wheel when you're braking because it shakes like hell. Not to mention corners and especially roundabouts - you need to have the reaction time and skills of a fighter pilot if you don't want to spin out of control every time you enter one of those. And the fuel consumption is a joke: around 17 l/100km (14 mpg) and combined with a 40 litre tank you can barely make it from one petrol station to another. The comfort of this car is very close to those wooden benches they used to but in old buses, except you didn't fear for your own life everytime you sat on them. Gear ratio is hilarious, if you are doing 50 km/h (30 mph), you can put it into the highest (5th) gear and still get 2200 rpm. The engine screams like a cat in an asian restaurant when you are finally brave enough to push it to 90 km/h. However, when it comes to off-roading, this car is one of the best I've seen - it's pocket-size allows it to fit almost anywhere, and it has a selectable 4WD and a low diff. Just put a good set of mud tires on it and you can get anywhere you want.

I think yours was seriously broken mate. Mine has no problem sustaining ~100-110kph. And gets ~35mpg(UK). Don't get me wrong, once you start pushing past 110kph it gets rather wobbly but for cruising along it does fine.

Mine cruises at 120kmh with comfort and 8km/L. I installed a pulsed secondary air intake via the PCV line. The engine breathes effortlessly at high rpm.

Early Jimnys come with the “death Wobble” problem, there are various repairs needed to eliminate this, Suzuki fixed this in the later models . Mine only wobbles slightly at 75kmh but then goes away after that.
