Interesting that they are using that technique and water hammering.

Oxygen is not compulsory for Fire infact term OXIDIZER is used. If no Oxidizer no combustion process. Fire Triangle concep given by Antoine Lavoisier further HN Thronton gave Fire Tetrahedron concept.

Hi, i was just studying... and the thought popped into my head. The negative pressure of the box that is a essential condition for a backdraught is caused by the rich fire gases inside the fire compartment shrinking, causing a negative pressue. Much like the science experiement where you heat a can and dunk it in water and it implodes... If you were to boundary cool the box at the ventilation limited decay phase before opening the door or at about the same time. Would it cause a more explosive backdraught or is it possible it could take it past the ideal mixture? Im interested as i think its currently National Operational Guidance to boundary cool on metal compartments (ship fires). Im thinking its just going to speed up the time it takes for the backdraught conditions to be ideal. Thanks 😂 -Frazer

@@bensmith2310 except the UL studies done would have to agree with me. Periodic hits with a wide fog pattern doesn’t create enough heat exchange. It’s grossly insufficient suppression, thus aiding fire spread. The priority is to get a line to the seat of the fire and put the fire out as quickly as possible. A solid stream is the best way to do that. And this video never mentions air entrainment and what that does to adjoining compartments. And lastly: this is a dangerous job, if we sacrifice speed and efficiency in the name of FF safety, then we are not doing our job for our residents that we swore to protect.
