Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I miss Firefall's early days and stuff like Baneclaw and thumping for rare resources. I still remember so many places on the map as if I was truly there. [sigh]

The dude who helped make FireFall is now making Em8er. He calls it the spirit child of FireFall and how he wished he could've made it. You guys should check it out. Not sure if it'll be your thing but I'm excited for it though it's got a long way to go before it is even ready to be in beta.

It is risky to bring Em8er in that same direction as Firefall. So yes there are some differences. Yes there are mechsuits, but firefall was about mercs in power armor. There will be different classes of mechs, light medium and heavy but from what I understand, the players will get to customize what they do and load outs. The enemies vary is size and power. And if I remember, bosses in Firefall got pretty damn big as well.

Thank you for this memory. The video is so clear! I played during the best bits, and no other game could drag me away during that time. I came here after seeing an EM8ER pre-alpha video. Not quite there yet, but showing promise of someday feeling a bit like this.

I remember the update war in amazon version 1.3, it was extremely stable with divine playability... it was a nearly perfect version with hundreds or thousands of players in all spots everywhere 24 hours. However after version 1.5, the developers began to invent lies and create suicidal updates, took the amazon map that was the most advanced, and prevented new players to create new accounts or leveling new classes in copacabana. Stayed for it for a couple of years. I can dream a private server version 1.5 with map amazon and maximum level 40 with the option to craft equal was before the stagnation of almost 2 years until closing. It's a dream and I'm tired of dreaming after years waiting for.

I played this game for more than 2 years, all the way from alpha to final release. I watched this game slowly die. Man it hurts so much. I saw that this game is still there in Steam. What happened to RED 5 studios? Is it still there? Why can't they just revive this game back? BTW thanks for the video.

I believe you can read it up on internet if you search a little, RED 5 is no more and for good reasons. I bought the founder pack for this game and I miss it a lot too, but I remember the game was very buggy toward the end and it became a mess with the sharding. I basically only played on big updates. The game was beautiful at the time with nice colors/art and SFX, I don't believe Em8er can get there any time soon...

Me too, or a pirate server. But afaik no one has any server side code. There was a project that was looking into recreating the server side code but I believe it died.
