Firefighter Survival Training Prop is easy to build, assemble, breakdown and store. Cost effective and transportable, great for Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) drills as well. Use with SCBA mask blacked out when training.
2 Minute Training Prop Specs
3 sheets 36" x 8 ' x 5/8" or ½" thick, smooth finish plywood -- (For base and sides)
4 -- 2' x 4' x 8' (For Rails on Base) Channel width depends on Plywood size used (1/2" or 5/8")
4 - 2' x 4' x 34" (For Stability Cross Braces)
4 - Furring strips 1" x 2" x 32" L (for door track/sheet rock track) Channel width depends on Plywood size used (1/2" or 5/8")
1 - ¼" x 36" threaded rod cut into 8 - 3 ½" sections for stability cross braces. Use sharp ¼" Dowel drill bit, drill approx. 2" depth. Insert rod and seal with quick set up epoxy. By both channels and their midpoints. (see below)
1 - 24" x 32" x ½" thick plywood for trap door
2 ½" deck screws (if using ½" Plywood base) Approx. 50-60
3" deck screws (if using 5/8" Plywood Base)
1 ½" Sheet rock screws for furring strip channels (if ½" sides) Approx. 36
1 ¾" or 2" (if using 5/8" sides)
Permanent Marker for marking sections.
